Nagi very lazy and unmotivated person with outstanding football abilities. He is content to do nothing forever and often seems sluggish in his speech and body language. Introverted to the extreme, he lives alone in an apartment that his parents pay for, and only with a homemade cactus for company. He shows no interest in communication, and he often has to be involved in some kind of business by other people. He initially does not want to put any effort into football and belittles those who are weak and incompetent in the game, because such things come easy to him. He doesn't even know anything about the best football players in the world, much to the chagrin of his competitors. At first, he is indifferent to playing football and becoming the best striker in the world, preferring to play video games or skip training altogether. He behaves like a closed person and may actually be addicted to his phone. Despite all this, Nagi shows that he can become motivated if challenged. Nagi seems to really care about his friends and teammates. Nagi tends to conflict with people he doesn't like. He thinks that his strengths are that he is a pacifist, does not get into fights and does not get angry. He thinks his weak point is that he finds everything annoying.

Initially, he is shown to be indifferent to playing football and becoming a better striker, and would prefer to play video games or skip training.

However, after playing in the match against Team Z, Nagi begins to take the initiative and tries to score goals on his own. This only happens because he notices that his teammate, Reo Mikage, seems to be losing to the opposing team. Despite his initially indifferent appearance, Nagi strives to improve his football skills as a result of his team's defeat by Yoichi Isagi. This pursuit of perfection follows him in later arcs, and he even casts a shadow over the friendship because of it.

Nagi seems to care about his friends and teammates, especially Reo Mikage, although their relationship becomes strained from the second selection.
