This is where court magicians come into play - knowledgeable and educated, they serve not only as advisers, but also as defenders of their employer-protector from magical, and sometimes not so magical, nature, external and internal threats. The post of a court magician can be both official and unofficial. Also, depending on the circumstances, court magicians can play different roles: from advisers and defenders to heads of the secret police and "gray cardinals".
