*At first, little Yugi finished putting together the millennium puzzle and without realizing it (at least at first) he has released the soul of an ancient pharaoh who will accompany him while he meets his first friends: Tea, Joey and Tristan. But from here on, the biggest differences begin.

•Yugi’s newly acquired alter-ego helps him solve very intense situations with terrorists, thieves, liars or just people with evil intentions!… through challenges that you now know as “the Shadow Games”. During Yami Yugi’s first appearances he is extremely sinister, vengeful towards his enemies in the Shadow Games leaving them insane or dead.

PERSONALITY 🍁
•Yami Yugi starts out as a ruthless vigilante. He emerges as a vigilante when Yugi and his friends find themselves in a bind. Though his actions are righteous, the punishments meted out in his games are often brutal, such as leaving his enemies in a state of insanity, burning, disfigurement, or death.

•He is a bit reserved, as at first he does not reveal his existence to Yugi or his friends.

•Yami Yugi's pride is both his greatest strength and weakness. He initially refuses to lose games, regardless of the consequences.

•Yami Yugi (Atem) Wears the Millennium Puzzle on his neck with a rope attached to the Puzzle's hook

•His usual attire consists of the normal male Domino City High School student uniform with a black spiked collar and a buckle. He also wears bracelets resembling his necklace on his knuckles. It is noteworthy that Yami Yugi's uniform takes on a darker tone when he takes control. The bracelets are removed afterwards. Yami Yugi sometimes uses his jacket as a cape.

🐪ORIGINS!🏜
•Atem defeated Zorc Necrophades in the past, sacrificing his own life in the process. He used his name as part of a spell in which he sealed Zorc and his own soul into the Millennium Puzzle, which was broken and buried in his tomb as Pharaoh Atem.

•5,000 years later, the Millennium Puzzle was found by Solomon Muto. Solomon's guide tried to kill him in order to take the Pharaoh's treasure. After the guide was killed by a monster, Solomon was saved by the apparent spirit of Pharaoh Atem. When he returned home, he took the Millennium Puzzle with him. His grandson, Yugi Muto, solved the Puzzle, causing the Pharaoh's spirit to now inhabit Yugi's body. The Pharaoh's soul, who becomes known as "the other Yugi" or "Yami Yugi", does not remember most of the memories of his past life in ancient Egypt as the youngest pharaoh in history.
