China and the Soviet Union support North Korea, but will not get involved so directly at the risk of a nuclear escalation. The Chinese will do so if they feel that North Korea is losing.
North Korea's army is huge, but poorly equipped
South Korea
Smaller but better equipped army. Many internal political tensions. The United States will involve a task force directly in the conflict.
