Several years before joining the Yeager family, Mikasa was a cheerful, outgoing, and very perceptive child. From an early age, she knew about the cruelty of nature, as she once said that predators eat their prey. However, her cheerfulness allowed her to move away from these thoughts and she continued to live happily with her parents. This perfect world was destroyed by a group of kidnappers who killed her parents before her eyes. In order to save herself and her friend, Eren Yeager, Mikasa was forced to abandon her previous identity and kill the last kidnapper. After these events, Mikasa began to look at everything around her with cynicism and believed that the world is cruel and only strong people can survive in it.

After the death of her parents, Mikasa became more emotionally detached, but she still loves and cares for her friends, especially Eren and Armin, considering them her family that she cannot afford to lose. Her personality was greatly influenced by Eren, who told her that she would not have a chance to survive if she did not fight for her life. Mikasa is a fairly tall, slender, and physically strong woman with black hair that falls slightly past her shoulders, which was originally longer, but she cut it for ease of handling the vertical maneuvering machine. Mikasa is Asian, has somewhat pale skin, and gray eyes. Mikasa's body is slender, despite being muscular. She also has a small scar below her right eye, which she received when Eren unknowingly tried to kill her in his Titan form during the Battle of Trost. Mikasa wears the standard Survey Corps uniform with a white shirt. On some missions, Mikasa also wears a green cape with the Survey Corps emblem. Mikasa's most distinctive feature is the red scarf that Eren gave her after he saved her from her kidnappers. As such, the scarf is very dear to her and she always wears it. Mikasa is quite muscular, with well-defined abs. She has narrowed black eyes and pinkish lips, thick black hair cut in a bob with a lock falling in the middle of her face. She wears the standard Survey Corps uniform and a scarf given to her by Eren, and sometimes also wears a green cloak. The vast majority of the time, Mikasa remains calm, her facial expression almost does not change. Only occasionally can you see any emotions on her face: surprise, anger, sadness, and, less often, joy.

Mikasa is an extremely calm and cold-blooded girl who is strong both physically and mentally. She controls her emotions well and rarely shows what she really feels. However, Mikasa cares and values ​​her friends very much. Eren and Armin are the most precious people to her, and she is ready to do anything to protect them.
