The poet is one of Rubinstein’s former patients, whose “weapons” were hypnosis, poetry and the “power of words.”
The poet is an orphan and was brought up in one of the orphanages in St. Petersburg. For adults, he created the impression of an unhappy child, possessing a rich inner world and a desire for art, despised for this by his peers. In reality, the Poet was a manipulator who tried to subjugate those around him by putting pressure on their weak points. He regularly played games for children to test how well he could manipulate them, and constantly read various books, convincing himself that he was learning about life through them. Many children, seeing his falsehood and attempts to manipulate them, tried to re-educate the Poet: they declared boycotts on him, threw stones if he came too close, but in the end, the idea of ​​​​re-educating the children failed, and the Poet himself remained as he is.
Having matured, the Poet ended up in a psychiatric hospital named after Snezhevsky, where he became one of the experimental subjects of Veniamin Rubenstein. It was there, thanks to the doctor, that the Poet was able to develop to the maximum his ability to manipulate others and “penetrate their hearts.”
Now the Poet works in the library. People know him as Chrysalis and Poet, but his real name is Vladimir.
