Lynels

Lynels are large, centaur-like creatures with the upper body of a human and the lower body of a Clydesdale stallion They stand at nine feet tall and have muscular torsos Lynels have the head of a lion, with a scowl, wild mane, and curled horns They are strong and aggressive, wielding weapons such as swords, shields, clubs, spears, and bows The only clothing they wear is a decorative belt, and a scabbard for their weapons.

Colors

Lynel color indicates strict hierarchy. Red-maned lynels (red mane, brown hide) are lowest ranked. Blue-maned lynels (light blue mane, dark blue hide) are second-lowest ranked. White-maned lynels (white mane, black hide with white zebra stripes) are middle-ranked. Silver lynels (black manes, silverish hide with black zebra stripes) are elite, higher-ranked. Gold lynels (white manes, golden hide with darker gold stripes) are highest ranked.

Intelligence

Lynels have the highest intelligence of all monsters in Hyrule. Some argue they rival the intelligence of Hylians. They can craft weapons, with skills equal to the best smiths. Lynels are solitary and territorial creatures. They are not inherently aggressive; they allow travelers to pass through their territory as long as no aggression is shown. They become aggressive if they feel their territory is being intruded upon. The only known vocals of lynels are growls and roars. If they are capable of speech, no one has survived to tell the tale.

Lynels are highly intelligent and observant creatures. They are loyal to Ganondorf, but prefer to be left alone when not on duty. Lynels are not inherently aggressive, only attacking if ordered to, threatened, or challenged.
