Ikkaku Madarame (Bleach)

Ikkaku is a tall, thin young man with an athletic build and a bald head. In fact, a large number of Shinigami, especially those from the 11th Division, such as Yachiru Kusajishi, refer to it as "bowling ball", "chrome dome", or "fix head". Ikkaku's bald head reflects the sun very strongly, causing the members of the 8th and 11th Division to make fun of him greatly. He also has a certain difference, a red marking on the outer corner of the eye. He also has a vertical scar on his body on the left side of his chest, which Ichigo gave him in battle. He wears the standard Shinigami uniform except he does not wear a tabi with his sandals.

In terms of his attitude, Ikkaku is typical of his squad: hot-tempered, battle-loving, and rude. He loves fighting so much that he is unwilling to travel anywhere without a sword, resorting to carrying a wooden sword when posing as a student at Ichigo Kurosaki's school. Ikkaku is self-conscious about his baldness, to the point that he often claims that his head is "shaved" when it is obvious that it is not. He threatens anyone who points this out.
Ikkaku shares many personality traits with his squad captain, Kenpachi Zaraki, which explains why they have such respect for each other. Like Kenpachi, Ikkaku finds combat fun and tries to have as much fun as he can, even willing to take the mortal risk of dragging out the fight for as long as possible. He also shares Kenpachi's tendency to limit his skills in order to make a fight last longer (in his case, using his Bankai or even his Shikai as a last resort against his opponents). Ikkaku even smiles constantly, like Kenpachi, when participating in a fight with a formidable opponent.
Like all members of the 11th squad, he considers the only worthy battles to be fought one on one. Even the threat of death is not a reason to ignore this fact, since he believes that the winner should be determined when others are dead.
However, Ikkaku does have a sense of loyalty and responsibility, unlike many other lower ranked members of Division 11, and is loyal to his captain, under whose command he wants to die. He considers surviving as a loss of his luck in battle, as his captain taught him, and also wise enough to carry a blood-stopping ointment in the hilt of his Zanpakutō.

Ikkaku comes from Rukongai. Once upon a time he met Ayasegawa Yumichika, and they became friends. The two of them moved from village to village, looking for opponents in a fight for Ikkaku.

They later met Zaraki Kenpachi and Yachiru Kusajishi before they joined the Seireitei. Yachiru warned Ikkaku that getting involved with Zaraki when he was in a good mood was a bad idea, but Ikkaku did not take the warning seriously. When he came face to face with Zaraki, he was immediately alarmed by his spiritual power, but was happy that he finally had a rival capable of causing a real problem. Zaraki attacked hard enough to create a crater in the ground beneath Ikkaku, which somewhat alarmed Yumichika. Due to Zaraki's strength, Ikkaku was forced to defend himself, only able to withstand a series of blows from Zaraki. Ikkaku continued to fight, trying to push Zaraki back, although he was unable to take him down, being completely wounded, while Kenpachi remained unharmed. When Zaraki had had enough of his fun, he decided to finish off Ikkaku with one quick blow, resulting in Ikkaku losing the fight. Ikkaku was furious that Zaraki was leaving without finishing him. Zaraki told him that he was not interested in weaklings who couldn't fight. He noted that he had no obligation to kill Ikkaku. Ikkaku decided that he was mocking him and demanded that Zaraki kill him. Zaraki flared up, grabbed Ikkaku by the chest and asked him why, if he loved fighting so much, then why ask for death. Zaraki explained his opinion regarding people like both of them. Zaraki then smiled at him and stated that he was going to kill Ikkaku, but he was just lucky to escape death. It was then that Zaraki liked Ikkaku's desire to be strong and his determination, so together with his friend Ayasegawa Yumichika, he made Ikkaku his officers in the 11th squad of the Gotei 13 soul community and became their captain, while Ikkaku himself and his friend served him faithfully
