Feyd Rautha

-Rauta Harkonnen (Eng. Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen; Nee. Feyd-Rautha Rabban (English Feyd-Rautha Rabban); years of life: 10174 PG - 10193 PG) is one of the antagonists of the novel "Dune". Feyd was the young nephew of Baron Vladimir Harkonnen of the House of Harkonnen. He was a significant figure in the baron's plans to achieve power. Vladimir Harkonnen appointed him the heir—baron of the House of Harkonnen. The baron appreciated the young Feyd-Raut more than his elder brother, the "Beast" Gloss Rabban, Count of Lankivel. Feyd was both intelligent and charismatic, and also Harkonnen-like violent and sadistic, although the latter was related to his upbringing.

Born under the name Feyd-Rauta Rabban in Lankivale. His father was Abulurd Rabban, and his mother was his wife Emmy. Feyd's father hoped that his youngest son would become a worthy successor and would not inherit the dishonorable glory of the House of Harkonnen, unlike his older, more cruel son, Gloss.

Feyd was named after his maternal grandfather, Rauta Rabban, who was killed on the orders of Gloss. When the Baron heard about this, he decided to take Feyd away from his father and raise him on Jedi Prime as a potential heir. It was then that his last name was changed to Harkonnen. Over time, the Baron began to give Feyd more preference than his older brother.

Feyd, like Paul Atreides, was part of a centuries-old breeding program conducted by the Bene Gesserit Order, which planned a family alliance between the son of the Harkonnens and the daughter of Atreides in order to unite the Great Houses, once and for all to end the enmity between them. Their son could very likely turn out to be Kwisatz Haderach.
