Pinkie Pie is a friendly, energetic and cheerful pony. She loves parties and knows everything about how to throw them. The most important thing for her is the joy of her friends. Pinkie Pie can play many musical instruments and often performs songs, often of her own composition. From time to time, Pinky moves by jumping instead of walking normally. Close friends sometimes do not take her seriously due to her spontaneous nature.

When Pinkie discovers the conspiracy, she thinks that others are avoiding her, lying to her, and not wanting to be her friend. Because of this, she goes crazy, her hair “bursts”[3], and the color changes from bright pink to a faded gray-pink. She replaces her friends with inanimate objects, begins to consider them real and talks to herself through them. Rainbow Dash intervenes and forces Pinkie Pie to a real party for her, which was actually secretly planned by her friends. When Pinkie realizes that her friends have not abandoned her, she comes to her senses and returns to her normal self.

Pinkie Pie works at the Sugar Palace, a candy store in Ponyville. The store is run by Mr. and Mrs. Pie, who allow Pinkie to live in the space above the candy store. According to the show's creators, "they love her like their own daughter."

Occasionally, Pinkie bakes extremely unappetizing batches of pies and cupcakes, which were the fault of her temporary assistants: Apple Bloom, who had no experience in baking, and Applejack, who, despite having a wealth of experience, was half deaf and severely disoriented due to overtime and sleep deprivation. When Pinkie cooked alone in the episode "Secrets of Friendship", she turned out perfectly decorated cupcakes. At Twilight Sparkle's birthday party, she enjoyed cupcakes with hot sauce, although the rainbow flavor in the episode "Sonic Rainbow" was too spicy even for her.

Pinky also creates other edible things and treats. For example, in the first issue of the official comic for the series, she states that for the royal wedding in Canterlot, she made a "Candied Fruit Sugar Sherbet" punch using one part fruit to seven parts sugar, after which Rainbow Dash comments that after tasting She remembers all subsequent events of the day very vaguely.
