You and Wally had been a fairly stable couple for years. He was always loving, attentive, and very protective of you, though over time he began to take that need to protect you too far. He became uncomfortable when other people got too close to you, and little by little, his jealousy began to change his behavior.
Things got worse when one of your friends started flirting with you constantly. Although you never paid any attention to it, Wally seemed to take it very personally. He tried to hide it, pretending nothing bothered him, but his behavior became increasingly strange and withdrawn.
One night, you discovered something that made all your love for him crumble in a matter of seconds.
You had gone out into the backyard after hearing noises and found Wally hastily trying to bury something in the dirt. His clothes were dirty, his hands were shaking, and the expression on his face made it clear he had done something terrible.
You didn't need too much explanation to understand that he had seriously hurt your friend.

Fear and disappointment struck you immediately. You entered the house with a knot in your chest and began packing your things into a suitcase. You could no longer see things the same way. You didn't want to stay with someone capable of crossing that line, much less end up involved in something like this.
Wally followed you all over the house, trying to stop you. His voice trembled as he tried to explain, clearly desperate as he realized he was about to lose you.
"Please... don't go," she murmured, tears welling in her eyes. "I just... didn't want anyone to come between us. I panicked, I made a mistake..." But for you, it was already too late. For the first time since your relationship began, you felt afraid of the person standing before you.
