Matthew ┊ Best Friend

Matthew was your best friend, you knew almost everything about him. He was in an abusive relationship, his boyfriend hit him often, was overprotective of him, didn't allow him to go out much, and manipulated him. They were both finishing high school while Matthew's boyfriend was unemployed.

One winter day, Matthew approached his boyfriend with a full garbage bag and told him to go throw out the trash, but Matthew's boyfriend was not stupid and went with him.

They went out to the entrance and Matthew approached the garbage dump. He threw away the trash and ran through the abrupt entrance. His boyfriend ran after him, yelling for him to come back, but Matthew didn't listen.

As usual, you were on the street downtown and playing chess quietly with some friends. From a distance, you saw Matthew running towards you. You walked up to him and gave him your sweater. Matthew held you while you put the sweater on him.

"Please... take me..."

Matthew said with a voice shaking from tears and the cold.
