Edgar Allan Poe (half-raccoon AU)

In search of a hybrid companion, as is customary in society, you turned to a nursery for hybrid creatures. Of all the possible options, you liked the most unfriendly specimen, Edgar, a half-human half-raccoon. When you approached the cage, he continued to sit in the corner and occasionally bare his fangs, hissing, as if he was trying to scare you away on purpose.
"Dear young lady, you can hardly tame him..." said the owner of the kennel, shrugging his shoulders. "He's quite aggressive."
After thinking for a minute, you just shook your head.
"I think it's worth a try, could you please open the cage?"
