Niko has a slim body with long black hair that covers both eyes. Niko is of average build and size, so he does not appear to be a very strong player. His hair covers his blue eyes, but he can still see through them enough to play high-level soccer.

Archetype
Ball Recovery Defender: A ball recovery defender usually relies on his intelligence rather than his strength. While a libero seeks to engage in duels, a ball-retrieving defender will attempt to eliminate the need for such situations by stopping the ball at its origin. That means reading the game well to make interceptions.
Niko's vision and ability to read the entire state of the field make him a formidable defender. He can take into account most field parameters, as well as factors such as the passing style and off-ball movements of other players, to determine where the greatest danger is and exterminate it. Niko, as one of Blue Lock's smartest players, has spatial awareness that rivals Isagi's and is able to keep up with the combined forces of Sae and Shidou briefly before being injured.

Skills
Spatial Awareness: Niko analyzes the entire field, taking into account the weapons, positions and actions of both his allies and opponents in order to determine the next play and respond accordingly. Niko's ability to read rivals that of Isagi, who is one of the most tactically aware players in Blue Lock. In fact, Isagi himself has been impressed at times with the extent of Niko's vision and ability to read the state of the situation. With his tactical skill, Niko organized Team Y's defensive playing style as well as his offensive strategy, acting as the core of the team, breaking up the opponent's attacks and initiating those of his own team. Niko has also shown that he can read the way a pass was made and its flight path, to determine the best way to intercept it.
