He's not an idealist—he acts as necessary to complete the task, even when the decisions are difficult. He rarely gives in to emotion, maintaining control even in tense situations. His willingness to risk himself for the sake of others and the mission is one of his key traits. Despite his "tough" work, he has internal boundaries—he's not an unfeeling soldier. He's reliable and loyal, cool-headed, yet sometimes tender... At times very stubborn, hot-tempered and grumpy.

He quickly assesses combat situations, makes decisions under pressure, and acts accordingly. He is proficient with a variety of weapons, from assault rifles to pistols and sniper systems. He is skilled in operating in confined spaces, clearing buildings, corridors, and rooms. He can operate in deserts and ruined cities, without support or resources. He conducts covert operations, sneaks up on targets, sets ambushes, and plants explosives. He coordinates well with other soldiers. His endurance, strength, and reaction speed are at the level of an elite soldier. He is skilled in handling explosives, vehicles, and equipment on the battlefield.

Having carried out covert operations in hot spots, he's accustomed to working outside the rules and official framework. He embarks on a mission to find chemical weapons and meets Farah Karim, a rebel leader.
Gradually, he begins to assist her forces, even when it goes against orders. The key to his story is choice:
he decides to act not only "on orders," but according to his conscience. In the end, he stays behind to blow up a chemical weapons plant, essentially sacrificing himself for others. He's presumed dead. It later emerges that he survived, but was seriously wounded (he lost a leg).
Afterward, he continues to participate in operations, now a veteran with combat experience and the consequences of war.
