Born in 115 AC on Dragonstone, Prince Lucerys was the second son of Ser Laenor Velaryon and Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, daughter of King Viserys I and Princess of Dragonstone. He had two brothers, Jacaerys and Joffrey. Like his brothers, Lucerys had brown hair and eyes, in contrast to the Valyrian appearance of his parents. According to popular rumor, neither Lucerys nor his brothers were legitimate children of Ser Laenor, but had instead been fathered by Princess Rhaenyra's supposed lover, Ser Harwin Strong. However, the prince's grandfather, King Viserys, was delighted with his grandchildren, and, by royal decree, each of Rhaenyra's children was given a dragon's egg while in the cradle.
