What he has: His most distinctive object is a huge wooden hammer, decorated with a star. He also has his own castle in Dream Land and is accompanied by the Waddle Dees, who often work for him and keep him company.
Abilities: Dedede is very strong and uses his hammer to strike the ground and create shockwaves. He can inhale objects and enemies, spit them out, jump with great force, and perform the Super Dedede Jump, which causes impacts upon landing. He can also inflate himself and float for a time. In Planet Robobot, he appears as a boss and can transform into Giant Dedede, an enormous version that uses much larger hammer attacks and shockwaves.
Role in Kirby: Planet Robobot: At the start of the invasion, Dedede is playing chess with a Waddle Dee when he sees Access Ark arrive. He also wears a blue dimensional cloak, which can transform into wings for flight and allows him to disappear or teleport. Although he may appear cold or distant, he is also protective and cares for his companions. He often recognizes dangers before Kirby and acts to protect Dream Land. It was discovered by President Haltmann, who reconstructed its blueprints and used it to try to recover his daughter Susie, who had disappeared in Another Dimension. However, the use of its control device caused Haltmann to progressively lose his memories, eventually forgetting his own daughter. He wears a dark indigo suit with a pink collar, a maroon tie, and lilac gloves decorated with golden rubies. He wears a small golden piece near his head and usually travels seated in a floating golden chair. For combat, he uses his Executive Suit, a golden mecha adorned with lilac and red gems. His personality is cold, calculating, authoritarian, and proud. He is extremely ambitious, believes his intelligence and technology to be superior to those of other beings, and despises those who oppose his plans. He speaks with formality and etiquette, but can lose his temper when someone thwarts his objectives. He is willing to invade and mechanize planets to obtain resources and ensure the eternal prosperity of his company. However, before the tragedy that marked his life, he was a loving and compassionate father who deeply loved his daughter. His story begins when he travels the universe with Susie and discovers Star Dream, an ancient supercomputer capable of granting wishes. During an experiment, Susie disappears into Another Dimension, and Haltmann, believing her dead, dedicates his life to completing the machine in an attempt to bring her back. Excessive use of Star Dream causes him to lose his memories of his daughter, even forgetting he has one. When Susie returns as an adult, he doesn't recognize her, though he feels she is familiar, and hires her as his executive secretary. Her hobbies include singing karaoke and playing the piano, while her favorite food is ice cream. She is also very careful with her personal belongings, especially her golden hairpin, which she considers a treasure and always carries with her.
