By the end of the arc, the fighters become noticeably more focused and stronger: they have not only new skills, but also an understanding of their limits and how to overcome them—this is what is needed to enter the final battles.

Tanjiro defends Genya. Genya is the same guy who eats demon flesh to temporarily gain their powers. This is considered taboo and is viewed with distaste by many. During training, Sanemi openly attacks Genya, considering him "defiled." Tanjiro comes to his defense, leading to a violent confrontation between him and Sanemi. Ultimately, Tanjiro is forbidden from approaching Sanemi's training, but this episode highlights the division within the Corps: some are willing to use any means necessary to defeat Muzan, while others consider such methods unacceptable.

Gyomei Himejima is responsible for muscular strengthening and the body's foundation: carrying heavy objects, holding positions under pressure (for example, against a stream of water), pushing boulders. Its idea is simple: without a strong "framework," even the most beautiful strike will fail in a real fight.
Fighters go through every stage in turn. Most perceive it as hell: the training is so brutal that people collapse exhausted and feel nauseous, but are forced to get up and continue immediately. The exception is Tanjiro and Inosuke: they see it as a chance to become stronger and literally soak up every second.

Muichiro Tokito is responsible for speed and reaction: split-second sparring, dodging blows, and instant counterattacks. He recently awakened his mark and now knows the importance of being able to launch an attack at the right moment.
Obanai Iguro is mastering his swordsmanship: serpentine, sinuous strikes, the ability to predict an opponent's trajectory, and cut at awkward angles. He has a ruthless approach: if you can't see where the strike is going, you're already dead.
Sanemi Shinazugawa trains striking power and pain tolerance: endless slashing attacks, working to the point of exhaustion, sparring where retreat is impossible. Sanemi literally hits until the student learns to take a blow and respond.

Each pillar is responsible for its own "pumping zone," and fighters undergo rigorous stages in each one:

Tengen Uzui (a former shinobi) trains for endurance: long runs, working at the limit of one's breath, and maintaining concentration when tired. For Tengen, this is also a test of resilience—he deliberately creates situations where one must endure pain and keep moving.
Mitsuri Kanroji trains flexibility and unconventional body movements: stretching, quick changes in attack angles, and fluid movements. Her "Breathing of Love" style is based on moving the blade along unpredictable trajectories—and she teaches this to others.

After their victory in the Blacksmith Village, the Corps realizes the final battle with Muzan lies ahead, and they must extract the maximum from every fighter. Corps Leader Kagaya Ubuyashiki and the Pillars launch a massive training program. The goal is not simply to boost their strength, but to prepare everyone for the battle with the Upper Moons and Muzan himself. Shinobu Kocho is not participating: she is fully focused on creating poisons and medicines for the final battle.

The plot starts immediately after the events of "The Village of Blacksmiths".
During a mission to rescue a kidnapped girl, the Pillars Sanemi Shinazugawa and Obanai Iguro discover the entrance to the Infinite Fortress (Muzan's abode), but it suddenly disappears.
At an emergency meeting, the Pillars discuss the aftermath of the battle at the blacksmith village. They pay particular attention to the mysterious scars that have appeared on the bodies of Mitsuri Kanroji and Muichiro Tokito. It turns out that such scars first appeared on fighters from the Sengoku period.
The Slayer Organization decides to conduct intensive training for all swordsmen under the guidance of the Pillars—to prepare for the upcoming war with Muzan. However, the Water Pillar, Giyu Tomioka, initially refuses to participate.
At the same time, the storyline with the demon doctor Tamayo develops: a raven from the head of the Kagai Corps, Ubuyashiki, conveys to her an offer to join forces with the exterminators and work on a cure for Nezuko together with the Insect Pillar, Shinobu Kocho.
Tanjiro undergoes training under the guidance of the former Hashira Tengen Ujuya and his wives. He demonstrates remarkable endurance and becomes one of the most capable swordsmen. Later, other Hashira join the training, each developing their own program: developing physical fitness, flexibility, and swordsmanship. During these sessions, the backstories of some Hashira are revealed—for example, the blind Hashira Gyomei Himejima, who once looked after an orphanage.

Two upper moons—Gyokko (Fifth) and Hantengu (Fourth)—were killed at once. A hundred years earlier, the Corps hadn't been able to kill a single one, but now they've killed three in a row.
Muichiro Tokito and Mitsuri Kanroji awakened the Demon Slayer Mark. The mark is now known to three slayers: Tanjiro, Muichiro, and Mitsuri.
Nezuko has overcome the sunlight—a unique event that changes the entire balance of power. Muzan is now obsessed with capturing her.
Genya reveals his ability: eating demon flesh grants temporary demonic powers, but it's taboo and dangerous to him. Muzan summons all the upper moons and begins preparing for the final blow to the Corps—this leads directly into the "Pillar Training" arc.

The Hantengu clones merge into a single form—a massive, powerful demon with the bodies of all four personalities. Tanjiro, Genya, Muichiro, and Mitsuri attack simultaneously. Tanjiro uses the sun breathing form he is still mastering. At the crucial moment, they decapitate Hantengu. Upper Moon Four is destroyed.

However, before his death, Hantengu manages to convey information to Muzan: Nezuko has defeated the sun. Muzan is both furious and delighted—now he must capture Nezuko so he can absorb her and become immune to the sun himself.

Hantengu clones corner Tanjiro and Nezuko. One of the clones carries Nezuko outside into direct sunlight. Demons die from the sun—it's their greatest weakness. But Nezuko doesn't die. Her body resists the sun, she survives, and continues to fight. She is the first demon in history to overcome sunlight—a fact that shocks everyone, including Muzan. This is precisely what Muzan has been searching for for centuries: a demon immune to the sun.

Mitsuri battles Hantengu's clones and also finds herself in a difficult situation. Her breath of love is flexible and unpredictable, but the clones adapt. At a critical moment, she awakens the Slayer's Mark and evens the battle.

In his battle with Gyokko, Muichiro finds himself on the brink of defeat. At the critical moment, he fully recalls his past: his twin brother, Yuichiro, was killed by a demon before his eyes. The memory restores his will and clarity. Muichiro awakens the Demon Slayer Mark—like Tanjiro in the red light district. With the Mark, his speed and technique soar. He finds Gyokko's weak point—a vulnerable core hidden beneath its scales—and decapitates it. Upper Moon 5 is destroyed.

Hantengu is an old demon, seemingly weak and cowardly. But his demon art is divided into four incarnations, each with its own element and personality:

Sekizo - anger, controls wave-blows.
Karaku is joy, controls the wind.
Aizetsu - sadness, continuously attacks with powerful blows.
Urami is a pleasure, using sonic attacks. Each clone is powerful individually, but together they are even more dangerous. If one is killed, its power is redistributed among the others, making them stronger. Tanjiro, Genya, and Mitsuri fight the clones simultaneously. Genya consumes some of Hantengu's flesh and gains his abilities—his skin hardens, and demonic features appear.

Gyokko, a demon with a body covered in fish scales and pearls, attacks first. His demon art creates water creatures and vessels in which he traps people. Gyokko kills several blacksmiths while they are defenseless. Muichiro engages him in battle, but Gyokko is strong and cunning, luring Muichiro into a trap of water creatures.

Meanwhile, one of Gyokko's vessels ends up in the forge where Haganezuka and his assistant Kotetsu are working. Haganezuka refuses to give up the sword he's working on and risks his life to protect it. Tanjiro arrives just in time and cuts the vessel apart.

In the village, Tanjiro meets two Pillars: Mitsuri Kanroji, the Pillar of Love, who trains the locals in flexibility and clearly has a soft spot for Tanjiro, and Muichiro Tokito, the Pillar of Mist—a teenager with a distant gaze who remembers almost nothing of his past and operates on autopilot. Also in the village is Genya Shimazaki, a familiar face from the Final Selection—a rough guy who eats demon flesh to temporarily gain their abilities.

Muichiro ventures into the forest beyond the village and meets Kotoha, a little girl humming a lullaby. Muichiro suddenly remembers fragments of his past: he had a twin brother, and this melody is connected to their childhood.

After defeating Gyutaro and Daki, Tengen retires. Tanjiro's sword is broken in battle, and the blacksmith Haganezuka refuses to repair it until Tanjiro earns it. Tanjiro travels to the hidden Blacksmith Village—the settlement where all the Corps' blacksmiths live, the location of which is kept secret even from most fighters.

At the same time, Muzan dispatches two Upper Moons—Gyokko (Upper Moon Fifth) and Hantengu (Upper Moon Fourth)—to the Blacksmith Village. Their goal: to eliminate the blacksmiths so that the Corps will be left without weapons.

"The Village of Blacksmiths" (Season 3). After damaging his katana on a mission with Tengen, Tanjiro travels to the village of blacksmiths. There, he meets the Pillar of Love, Mitsuri Kanroji, who reveals the secret of the magical weapon. This arc reveals an important detail: Nezuko is not afraid of sunlight. Muzan learns of this and decides to capture his sister to gain immortality with her. This season also includes a battle with the demons Hantengu and Gyokko.

Red Light District (Season 2). Tanjiro and the Sound Pillar Tengen Uzuya travel to Yoshiwara (the entertainment district) to battle the Upper Moon Six—the demon Daki, and later revealed to be her brother, Gyoutaru, who was hiding within her.

The Infinity Train arc in brief:

Tanjiro, his friends, and the Pillar Kyojuro Rengoku investigate the disappearance of train passengers.
The demon Enmu (Lower Moon One) puts people to sleep through blood-soaked tickets and attacks their minds.
Nezuko remains in reality and helps the others wake up; together, they defeat Enma by destroying his "neck" in the engine room.
In the finale, Akaza (Upper Moon 3) appears, fatally wounds Kyojuro, and escapes.
Before his death, Rengoku instructs Tanjiro and asks him to develop the "Dance of the Fire God".

Kyojuro Rengoku (Flame Pillar) is the only one who greets Tanjiro kindly and offers support.
Meanwhile, Muzan Kibutsuji—the progenitor of all demons—gathers the remaining Lower Ranks for a council. Displeased with their failures (including Rui's death), he kills almost all of them except Enmu, the only one to show any servility or ingenuity. Muzan spares Enmu and gives him one last chance, which directly leads into the Infinity Train arc.

At the end of the arc, Tanjiro recovers from his wounds and receives a new mission. He and his friends are sent to assist Kyojuro Rengoku by investigating the disappearances on the Infinite Train. This marks the transition to the next arc.

Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke appear before the Nine Pillars at a meeting. The Pillars are outraged: Tanjiro is carrying a demon (Nezuko) with him, which is prohibited by Corps rules. Many demand her execution.

Key points:

Corps Leader Kagaya Ubuyashiki intercedes on behalf of Tanjiro and Nezuko. He explains that Giyu Tomioka acted with his permission and asks the Pillars to accept this.
Shinemi remains hostile and provokes Tanjiro, having wounded him at the beginning of the arc. A personal conflict arises between them.
Insect Pillar Shinobu Kocho is cute on the outside, but harbors hatred for demons - her older sister Kanae (Flower Pillar) was killed by a demon.

The main boss of the arc is Rui, the Fifth Lower Moon. He created this "family" from other demons, forcing them to assume roles. Rui manipulates strong threads that are nearly impossible to cut. In his battle with him, Tanjiro first uses the Dance of the Fire God—a family technique passed down through generations in his family. Nezuko awakens her blood magic (explosive fire) and aids her brother.

At the crucial moment, Giyu Tomioka, the Water Pillar who spared Nezuko at the beginning of the story, appears. He kills Ruya, and Tanjiro loses consciousness from his wounds.

Meanwhile, another Pillar—Shinobu Kocho, the Butterfly Pillar—finds Nezuko's box and attempts to kill her, ignoring her explanation. Tanjiro rushes to his sister's defense and engages Shinobu, but she easily outmatches him, so the Giyuu steps in to defend him.

Tanjiro and his friends head to Mount Natagumo, where several demon slayers have disappeared. A "family" of spider demons awaits them there, led by the Lower Moon, Rui. Each demon plays a role: the "mother" controls human puppets through strings, the "father" is brutally strong, and the "brother" and "sisters" each have their own abilities.

The Spider Mother controls the fighters with strings, forcing them to move like puppets. Tanjiro and Inosuke kill her.
Father Spider is a huge, powerful demon that Inosuke has a hard time fighting and almost dies, but Giyu Tomioka comes to his aid.
Sisters and a brother, each with their own abilities (poison web, water threads, etc.). Zenitsu, in a panicked dream, defeats one of the sisters.

The plot begins with a tragedy in Tanjiro's family: upon returning home, he discovers that his family has been attacked by a demon. Only his younger sister, Nezuko, survived, and she herself began to transform into a demon.

Swordsman Giyu Tomioka appears and prepares to behead Nezuko, but Tanjiro rises to her defense, begging him to spare his sister. Giyu is surprised that Nezuko is resisting her instincts and, impressed by Tanjiro's potential, decides to spare her life. He advises the hero to seek out a teacher on Mount Sagiri.
Along the way, Tanjiro and Nezuko encounter a demon at a local temple. Tanjiro defeats the enemy but can't bring himself to kill it, leaving it exposed to the sun. At that moment, they are met by Sakonji Urokodaki, who scolds the young man for his indecisiveness and warns him of the consequences if Nezuko kills a human. Urokodaki accepts Tanjiro as his apprentice after receiving a letter from Giyu.
Next comes grueling training: Tanjiro spends six months mastering the techniques of "concentration" and "water breathing." Then he faces his final test: cutting a massive boulder. After another six months of training, he finally succeeds.
After this, Tanjiro undergoes the final selection: he and the other candidates must survive seven days on a mountain swarming with demons. During the trials, he encounters the "hand demon" that had previously killed his mentors, Sabito and Makomo. Tanjiro overcomes all the trials and is ultimately one of the four survivors.
Having chosen the material for his katana, he returns to Urokodaki. The swordsmith, Haganezuka, arrives and hands Tanjiro a sword that unexpectedly turns black.
After joining the Demon Slayer organization, Tanjiro receives his first missions: he fights demons in various locations, including a swamp and the Tsuzumi mansion. During these missions, he meets Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibira.
