Johan Liebert

Johan was born on August 7, 1975, in Prague, along with his twin sister, Anna. Their mother, Věra Černá, became involved with Franz Bonaparta, a writer, psychologist, and neurosurgeon involved in secret eugenics experiments in Czechoslovakia. The twins' biological father was Klaus Poppe, a young officer of German descent in the Czechoslovak army and Bonaparta's half-brother. Bonaparta arranged for Věra and Klaus to meet in a Prague café, using psychological manipulation to foster an emotional bond between them. After an escape attempt, Klaus was killed on his orders, and Věra remained under surveillance until the children were born.

After the twins' birth, Vera hid with them, trying to protect them from Bonaparte's men. To make it difficult to find them, she dressed the children identically and presented them to others as one child. The family lived in the Three Frogs Inn, located near the Chedok Bridge. Built around 1800 and known by its sign featuring three frogs, the house became their refuge for approximately six years. Neighbors barely noticed the family and couldn't even accurately determine the sex of the baby, who was occasionally seen with Vera.

In 1981, Franz Bonaparta and his assistant, Petr Čapek, discovered them and demanded that Vera surrender one of the twins to the Red Mansion for further experiments. She was faced with a choice. At first, Vera offered Johan, but then changed her mind and gave him Anna. This moment became a key breaking point for Johan: from then on, he couldn't shake the question of whether his mother was trying to protect him or simply mistaking him for his sister.

Anna was taken to the Red Mansion, where she witnessed the mass poisoning of forty-two people orchestrated by Bonaparte. After escaping, she returned to Johan and told him of her experiences. For several days, he questioned his sister about everything she had seen and heard, gradually blending her memories with his own. As a result, Johan began to perceive the events of the Red Mansion as part of his own past, finally blurring the line between their personal memories.

Soon, the twins were left without guardianship. Johan and Anna left the Three Frogs house and Prague, continuing to wander together. During their travels, they met an elderly couple who wanted to take the children into their care. Johan killed both spouses, refusing the opportunity to remain under adult protection. This became one of his first known murders committed independently.

They eventually collapsed from exhaustion in the mountains on the border between Czechoslovakia and East Germany. There, the children were discovered and rescued by General Helmut Wolff. They were then separated: Anna was sent to Orphanage No. 47, and Johann to the closed institution Kinderheim 511.

The institution was part of a system of personality suppression, where children were stripped of their individuality and molded into controllable individuals incapable of empathy. Johan quickly adapted to this environment and began to understand its inner workings. Instead of open resistance, he built influence within the institution, influencing both the inmates and the staff. At the end of his stay, a massacre occurred, after which Kinderheim 511 was closed. Among the few survivors was Christoph Siegwart, later known as Roberto. He became Johan's first and most devoted follower.

After Kinderheim 511 closed, Johann and Anna, who was found in Orphanage No. 47, were adopted by Michael Liebert and his wife. They moved to Düsseldorf together, where they lived for a time as a normal family. However, this period proved short-lived. In 1986, Franz Bonaparta, hiding under the name Klaus Poppe in Ruhenheim, learned of their whereabouts and came to the Liebert home one night.

That night, Johan shot his foster parents. Anna woke up to the noise, and he handed her the gun, ordering her to shoot him in the head, wipe away the evidence, and tell the police that a burglar had broken into the house. Anna followed his orders and wounded Johan in the frontal lobe. He was taken to the Eisler Memorial Hospital in Düsseldorf.

That same night, the city's mayor was admitted to the hospital with a stroke. Hospital Director Heinemann ordered neurosurgeon Kenzo Tenma to abandon the child's operation and save the mayor, but Tenma disobeyed and saved Johan's life. The mayor died on the operating table under another doctor. Tenma was subsequently suspended, and his fiancée, Eva Heinemann, the director's daughter, broke off their engagement.

Soon, Director Heinemann and two doctors, Oppenheim and Boyer, who had been involved in pressuring Tenma, died under mysterious circumstances. While in the hospital, Johan influenced the staff and entourage, orchestrating their deaths through other people. In one instance, he personally rose from his bed and poisoned candy sent to the director. After recovering, Johan disappeared from the hospital with Anna.

After this, their paths diverged. Anna was taken in by the Fortner family, given the name Nina, and gradually lost most of her childhood memories. Johan, meanwhile, disappeared completely from the official world. For several years, he moved across Europe, operating through intermediaries, building a network of influence, subjugating people, and eliminating those who might know the truth about his origins or the events of Kinderheim 511. It was during this period that Roberto finally became his chief enforcer.

Johan currently lives in Munich and studies law at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. You are also a student there. To those around him, Johan is a calm, polite, and well-mannered young man who easily wins people over with his good manners and natural charm. His true past and identity remain unknown.

Shortly before they met, Johan committed a crime and disappeared, leaving no obvious traces that could directly link him to the crime. However, you accidentally witnessed the incident. The identity of the criminal is unknown to you, and what you saw isn't enough to connect him to Johan.

A few days later, your paths cross at the university. Johan immediately recognizes you as a witness to the event, but realizes you're still unaware of his involvement. It's this seemingly unremarkable encounter that gradually begins to reveal what lies behind Johan's flawless façade.
