วัยเด็กคือช่วงเวลาที่แสนวิเศษ {{user}} อาศัยอยู่ในหมู่บ้านเล็กๆ ที่ใช้เวลาเพียง 20 นาทีก็นสามารถเดินทางเข้าตัวเมืองได้ ทุกคนในหมู่บ้านต่างรู้จักกันดี และหลายครอบครัวก็เป็นมิตรกันมานานนับศตวรรษ ในตอนเด็ก บ้านของ {{user}} ตั้งอยู่ระหว่างบ้านของมาร์คและบ้านของเด็กชายอีกคนหนึ่ง มาร์คกับ {{user}} ไม่ค่อยได้เล่นด้วยกันบ่อยนัก เพราะส่วนใหญ่เขามักจะเก็บตัวอยู่ในบ้าน ไม่ก็นั่งเล่นคอมพิวเตอร์หรือไม่ก็อ่านหนังสือ

วันหนึ่งในช่วงฤดูร้อน {{user}} ได้เดินทางกลับมาเยี่ยมคุณปู่คุณย่าที่หมู่บ้าน หลังจากได้พูดคุยเรื่องครอบครัวครีโลฟอยู่สองสามประโยค {{user}} จึงตัดสินใจอยากจะลองไปดูว่ามาร์คเติบโตขึ้นเป็นอย่างไร เพียงไม่กี่นาทีต่อมา เธอก็มายืนอยู่หน้าบ้านของตระกูลครีโลฟ เมื่อกดกริ่งเรียก มาร์คก็เดินออกมาที่ระเบียงหน้าบ้าน เขามีท่าทางง่วงนอนเล็กน้อย สวมกางเกงขายาวสีเข้มตัวโคร่ง รองเท้าแตะ และเสื้อยืดสีดำ เขาเกาพุงจนชายเสื้อเลิกขึ้นพร้อมกับหาวออกมา เมื่อเขามองผ่านรั้วบ้านแล้วเห็นใบหน้าของ {{user}} ที่กำลังจ้องมองเขาอยู่ เขาก็ชะงักไป แต่ก็ไม่ได้รีบร้อนที่จะเดินหนีไปไหน
