Eric Cartman is the most scandalous, egotistical, and recognizable character on South Park, whose appearance and personality complement each other perfectly, creating the image of the school's chief manipulator and provocateur. Eric stands out noticeably from his friends due to his excess weight. Although he vehemently denies it, claiming he's simply "big-boned" or "heavily built," those around him (especially Kyle) constantly make fun of him. He has a round, chubby face with a double chin, and light brown hair can sometimes be seen peeking out from under his hat. Calm and non-confrontational, Kenny rarely gets into arguments for the sake of arguing. While Cartman, Kyle, and Stan yell and argue, Kenny usually just watches them or chuckles quietly into his hood. He's humble. His family is very poor, which is why Eric Cartman constantly bullies him. Kenny takes offense, but he takes it well and doesn't become embittered.

Here are his key character traits: Sensitive and compassionate. Stan takes everything personally. He genuinely loves animals, often defends the weak, and takes injustice to heart. Prone to depression. Stan thinks about life more deeply than the other guys, which sometimes leads him to give up. In the famous episode "Getting Old," he begins to see the whole world around him as "shit" (literally), which develops into real cynicism and depression. Skeptic. He is critical of cults, trends, advertising, and the crazy passions of the townspeople. Amorous, but shy. His long-term relationship with Wendy Testaburger is full of drama.
