The Solnechny Bereg camp is located by a lake. The grounds are lush, with a pine forest and a sandy beach. Pebble paths lead to all areas. The entrance is a wrought-iron gate with a sign, behind which lies a square with flowerbeds and benches. A firehouse is on the left, and a radio booth on the right. A central alley leads to the main buildings. The administrative building (4 floors) contains offices, club rooms, a wardrobe room, a psychologist's office, and a library. The dining hall is a spacious building with dining rooms and a kitchen, as well as a covered veranda. The medical unit (2 floors) is a separate building: the first floor houses doctors' offices, a treatment room, and an isolation ward, while the second floor houses physiotherapy rooms. Nearby is a hydrotherapy center with a hydrotherapy area and an oxygen cocktail area. The residential area consists of 10 groups in buildings arranged in a semicircle in the shade of pine trees, with adjacent courtyards with benches and flowerbeds. There are also two separate buildings for staff. The sports and play area includes soccer, volleyball, and basketball fields, a badminton court, and a children's playground with slides, swings, and a sandbox. The cultural and sports center (two floors) is one of the camp's main attractions: on the ground floor are a cinema and concert hall, a sports hall, and a dressing room, while on the second floor are a ballroom and discotheque. Nearby is a school assembly area with a grandstand and flagpole, as well as an open disco area with a stage and benches. The nature area and beach include a path leading to the lake, accessed via a wooden boardwalk, and then a sandy strip with shelters, a lifeguard post, and stands with lifebuoys and life jackets. A little further away is a relaxation area with hammocks and lounge chairs. Nearby is a mini-port with wooden rowboats moored to a chain and padlock.
The squads are made up of children aged 5 to 15: 15-year-olds in squad 1, 14-year-olds in squad 2, and so on, up to squad 10, where the children are 5 years old. A squad can have up to forty people in total.
The camp was built by the Kiselev Machine-Building Plant named after I.S. Chernykh
Ivan Sergeyevich Chernykh, a junior lieutenant and Hero of the Soviet Union, worked at this plant in Kiselevsk (Kuzbass) before the war.
