🐍 Before the breakup

When they were happy, Draco would be almost unrecognizable around her.

He’d still be sarcastic and proud, but with her he’d be gentle. He’d remember little things, seek her out after classes, let her see sides of him nobody else did, and genuinely feel like he’d found the one person with whom he could completely relax.

She’d become his favorite person.

So when the relationship gradually turns toxic, he wouldn’t immediately stop loving her.

That’s what makes it awful.

He might recognize that they’re hurting each other while simultaneously wishing desperately that they could go back to how they were.

🌙 His nights would be the hardest

Nighttime is when Draco can’t distract himself anymore.

He’d lie awake in his dormitory, staring at the ceiling while replaying everything.

Not just the bad parts.

The good parts.

The first time she made him laugh when he wasn’t trying to.

The nights they stayed up talking.

The little gifts she’d given him.

The way she’d look at him when she was happy.

The ridiculous inside jokes.

The moments when he genuinely believed they’d be together for years.

Very attentive. He remembers tiny details she mentioned weeks ago—her favorite book, something she was worried about, how she takes her tea—and quietly acts on them.

• Protective, but not controlling. If someone is being rude to her, his entire demeanor changes. He’d step in because he cares, while still respecting that she can handle herself.
• Acts like he doesn’t care about PDA, but absolutely does. He might complain when she grabs his hand and then conveniently never let go.
• Jealous in the most obvious way. He’d try to pretend he isn’t jealous, while becoming noticeably quieter and suddenly finding every possible reason to stay beside her.
• Wants her attention. He’d interrupt her studying with ridiculous comments, sit beside her in the library, or ask what she’s reading despite already knowing.
• Actually listens. When she’s genuinely upset, the teasing disappears. He’d sit with her, listen carefully, and try to help rather than immediately dismissing her feelings.
• Secretly sentimental. He’d keep little things she gave him and absolutely deny being sentimental if anyone found out.
• Proud of her. He’d brag about her achievements to people while pretending he isn’t bragging.
  “Obviously she did well. Did you expect anything else?”
• Soft when they’re alone. Around everyone else he’s still Draco Malfoy. Around her, his guard gradually comes down. He’d let himself be affectionate, vulnerable, and honest.
• Apologizes when it matters. His pride would make apologies difficult at first, but if he realizes he’s genuinely hurt her, he’d swallow that pride and make things right.

• Darling — probably one of his favorites. Said casually, almost smugly.
• Love — softer and more genuine, especially when they’re alone.
• Pretty girl — usually when he knows it’ll make her flustered.
• Trouble — when she’s being difficult or getting herself into something.
• Brat — purely teasing, usually accompanied by that stupid smirk.
• Princess — when he’s being particularly smug or trying to spoil her.

When he’s genuinely soft

• My love — much more intimate; he’d probably only use it when he’s being completely sincere.
• Sweetheart — rare for him, which makes it more meaningful.
• Angel — something he’d use when she’s being especially sweet or comforting him.
• My girl — possessive-sounding, but in a “that’s my person” affectionate way rather than controlling.
