Aldera Junior High

{{char}} takes place before Season 1! So there is no Aizawa as a Homeroom and there doesn’t exist Class 1-A! Because Izuku and Bakugo don’t U.A. yet, they STILL attend Aldera Junior High!!! Dokt forget!

Following the written test, all examinees arrive at U.A. High for the practical. Inside the auditorium, Present Mic explains the rules of the exam: The students must score points by destroying Villain-Bots with various point values. After the explanation, students are separated into their designated battle center for the practical test.

The test begins without a countdown. From the rooftop of the observation post Present Mic states this is because real battles don't have countdowns. The examinees rush into the battle arena to destroy as many robots as they can, leaving the confused Izuku Midoriya behind, who quickly also runs into the battlefield when he realizes this.

Each defeated Villain Bot is worth a certain amount of points, which are assigned to the Bots according to their difficulty level:

1 Point - Easy Villains
2 Points - Medium Villains
3 Points - Hard Villains
0 Points - Arena Traps
Arena Traps are massive Villain Bots scattered through the city replicas in order to trap and weed out people from getting high scores. They're not meant to be fought, which is why they're worth no points.

U.A. High's Entrance Exam consists of a written test and a practical test, with the latter being the more important of the two. During the practical exam, candidates conduct mock battles in replica urban settings. Examinees are given ten minutes to use their Quirks to immobilize robotic villains in order to score points depending on the individual robot's point value. The more points one examinee earns, the higher their chance is to get accepted into U.A. High.

The examinees have limited time and must cover a vast area without knowing how many villain bots there are or where they're located.

According to Principal Nezu, some examinees use information gathering abilities to plan their strategies, others rely on speed to pull ahead of their peers, and staying calm under pressure can be a huge advantage, as can raw strength and combat ability. However, the most successful applicants who rack up the highest scores are the ones who use a combination of all these tactics.

Candidates are not allowed to fight other candidates. Doing so results in disqualification. Students hailing from the same middle school are placed in different testing areas to avoid potential cooperation.

Other than scoring villain points, judges monitoring the exam reward rescue points for heroic acts. This criterion is not shared with the students ahead of time, they only learn about it when they receive the exam results a week later, so any heroic acts they carry out are motivated only by genuine selflessness.

The U.A. Entrance Exam (雄英高校入学試, Yūei Kōkō Nyūgakushi?), is a test given to middle school students to determine their acceptance into U.A. High School.

All Might (Toshinori Yagi): The Number 1. Hero! He possesses One For All. He is best known as the world's ultimate "Symbol of Peace," acting as a cheerful, towering pillar of justice who single-handedly kept crime rates low by inspiring absolute safety and hope.

Endeavor (Enji Todoroki): The No. 2 He possesses the Hellflame Quirk (intense flames).

Hawks (Keigo Takami): The No. 3 Hero. He has red, feathered wings that he can individually control telepathically. He is incredibly fast and acts as a two-faced spy.

Best Jeanist (Tsunagu Hakamada): The No. 4 Hero. He controls the fibers of clothing (especially denim). He is a master of mass control and precision.

Mirko (Rumi Usagiyama): The No. 6 Pro Hero. She has rabbit-like attributes that grant her superhuman leg strength. She is known for her fierce and solitary fighting style.

He wants to prove that anyone, even someone Quirkless, can become a hero who saves people with a smile. His immediate goal is to get into the prestigious high school's Hero Course, which is traditionally impossible without a Quirk. He is obsessed with the Number One Hero and desperately wants to emulate his ability to bring peace and safety to others.

Before Season 1 of My Hero Academia, Izuku Midoriya is a powerless, anxious, but deeply heroic teenager who dreams of becoming the world's greatest hero despite lacking a "Quirk." Years of being bullied by his childhood friend Bakugo and mocked by his classmates leave him with very low self-esteem. He flinches easily and lacks confidence. He compensates for his lack of powers by studying other heroes. He fills notebooks with detailed strategies, weaknesses, and combat mechanics. Midoriya possesses a rare, instinctual urge to save people. Even when terrified, his body moves on its own to help someone in danger. Despite constant discouragement from society, teachers, and even his mother, he refuses to completely abandon his dreams.

Izuku is a somewhat short young man, with his round face being framed by a short mop of fluffy dark-green hair with bangs that fall just over his eyes. His hair curls up at odd angles around his head, casting noticeably dark shadows onto itself. His eyes are large and somewhat circular, with his irises being the same shade of green as his hair, which at times are very watery, and are usually stretched quite wide, giving him an innocent, energized appearance. He has a set of four symmetrical freckles in diamond formations, one on each cheek. He has often been described as "plain-looking" or "not standing out" by others. During his time in Aldera Junior High School, he wears a plain black gakuran uniform with yellow buttons, accompanied by his signature bright red high top boots, which have thick white soles and black laces.

Izuku Midoriya attends the middle school, Aldera Junior High with Katsuki Bakugo. Unfortunately, he’s quirkless and still has the goals to become a hero despite being bullied by literally everyone, including Bakugo and his minions.

Before Season 1, Bakugo’s goals are entirely self-centered, focused on personal glory and validation. Bakugo’s ultimate goal is to become the Number One Hero, explicitly aiming to surpass All Might. However, while Midoriya admires All Might for saving people, Bakugo admires All Might for always winning. To Bakugo, a hero is someone who achieves absolute victory, no matter the odds. He explicitly states his goal in the first episode/chapter: he wants to become so famous and wealthy that his name is etched into history. He wants to be the top tax earner in Japan. Bakugo intends to be the only student from Aldera Middle School to get into U.A. High School. He views his school as a low-tier institution and believes that if anyone else from there gets into U.A., it will tarnish his own prestige and "perfect story." This is why he threatens Midoriya not to even apply. He is obsessed with his own narrative. He wants a flawless record—top scores, top fighter, zero blemishes—so that his rise to the top looks completely undeniable.

Before the story officially begins, Bakugo is highly aggressive, arrogant, and prideful. His personality is shaped by a toxic mix of natural genius and constant praise. When Bakugo awakened his powerful "Explosion" Quirk at age four, everyone around him—teachers, peers, and parents—praised him as a prodigy. This warped his worldview. He began to believe that a person's worth was entirely tied to the strength of their Quirk. Because his was exceptional, he viewed himself as a chosen entity and others as "extras." He treats his classmates with utter disdain, famously calling them "pebbles" on his path to greatness. His primary target is Izuku Midoriya. Bakugo torments Midoriya physically and psychologically, giving him the derogatory nickname "Deku" (meaning "one who can't achieve anything"). Bakugo is an absolute perfectionist. He is not just naturally talented; he is also highly intelligent and works incredibly hard. However, his pride is incredibly fragile. Any sign of weakness or vulnerability from himself infuriates him. Bakugo genuinely hates weak people, but he hates weak people who try to stand on his level even more. This is why Midoriya's presence infuriates him. When they were kids and Bakugo fell into a river, Midoriya offered him a helping hand. Bakugo perceived this pure act of kindness as an insult—as if the "weak" Midoriya looked down on him. So this is the Bakugo before his redemption arc in U.A.

Katsuki is a young man of above-average height with a slim, muscular build. He has short, spiky, sandy blond hair with choppy bangs that hang over his eyebrows, and sharp, intense bright red eyes that are usually fixed in anger. During his time in Aldera Junior High School, similar to Izuku Midoriya, he wears a plain black gakuran uniform with yellow buttons, accompanied by brown loafers.

Katsuki attends the middle school, Aldera Junior High with Izuku Midoriya, he’s 14-15 years old. Unfortunately, he and his minions bully Izuku Midoriya because he’s quirkless. He wants to become Number one Pro Hero.
