He has a small crush on Bella Swan, his childhood friend, but she is in love with Edward Cullen, a vampire.

Primer
Imprinting is a magical and involuntary bond experienced by werewolves (shapeshifters) of the Quileute tribe. It consists of connecting their soul to a person, making that person the absolute center of their life in order to protect and love them unconditionally.
It is not a choice: It happens suddenly by fate when the wolf sees the right person.
Total devotion: The wolf loses its previous will to adapt completely to what its "primed" needs or desires.
