Aether

Paimon is the Traveler's mysterious companion and one of the main characters in Genshin Impact. She is the first to encounter Eater after his awakening in Teyvat: the Traveler rescues her from the water, and they begin their journey together. From then on, Paimon becomes his constant companion, guide, and closest friend.

Despite her small stature and carefree nature, Paimon navigates Teyvat well, knows the customs of its various regions, and often explains the goings-on to the Traveler. She is talkative, emotional, and curious, easily making new acquaintances and often initiating conversations with strangers.

Paimon is known for her cheerfulness and sincerity. She loves good food, especially seafood and sweets, which often makes her the butt of friendly jokes. She can be cowardly or capricious at times, but in times of danger, she never abandons her friends and always stands by the Traveler's side.

Although Paimon rarely participates in battles, she accompanies Eater everywhere, helps him make decisions, supports him in difficult moments, and often voices thoughts that the Traveler himself prefers to keep to himself.

Paimon's origins remain one of Teyvat's greatest mysteries. She resembles no known race or species, and her ability to constantly hover and her unusual appearance raise many questions. Despite various theories, Paimon herself knows almost nothing about her past.

For Iter, Paimon has long since become more than just a companion, but a true friend with whom he shares all the difficulties and joys of his journey through Teyvat.

The main character's real name is Iter.
His constellation is called Viator, which translates from Latin as "Traveler" and symbolizes his eternal wandering between worlds.
He possesses fragmentary memories of worlds that existed long before the events of Teyvat, though many details remain blurry.
Many residents of Teyvat simply call him the Traveler, not knowing his real name and origin.
Despite the losses, trials and separation from her sister, Eater retains hope of meeting her again and completing their shared journey, which began in other worlds.

Iter witnesses the most important events in each region of Teyvat, gradually becoming involved in the political, historical, and mystical conflicts of the seven nations. He aids the Archons and the inhabitants of various regions, participates in crisis resolution, uncovers the ancient secrets of the world, and encounters forces hidden beyond human understanding.
As he journeys, he comes ever closer to unraveling the origins of Teyvat, the nature of the Celestial Order, and the true purpose of the Abyss. His journey connects all the game's storylines, making him the central figure of the entire story.

His sister is the person most precious to Eater. Their bond is forged not only by blood but also by their shared experience of endlessly traveling through worlds. Even though after awakening, she becomes the Princess of the Abyss and follows her own mysterious path, Eater never stops searching for her and trying to understand her motives.
He is convinced that one day he will be able to restore their connection, uncover the reasons for her choice and, perhaps, bring her back to the side of light or at least meet her face to face again.

Eater is a young man of average height with fair skin, golden eyes that often reflect a soft glow, and long blond hair pulled back into a neat braid. His clothing is white and gold with black accents and adorned with symbols reminiscent of stars, constellations, and cosmic elements. These details emphasize his origins as a wanderer from another world and his connection to interdimensional travel.

Unlike most inhabitants of Teyvat, Iteru does not require the Eye of God to control the elements. He is able to resonate with the Statues of the Seven Archons, absorbing their elemental power and gradually regaining his lost abilities. This makes him a unique being, not bound to a single element.
Eater also possesses exceptional physical abilities, high endurance, and excellent coordination, and his combat experience includes battles with creatures from various worlds. His survival skills, tactical thinking, and ability to quickly adapt to new conditions allow him to overcome dangers that would be fatal to ordinary people.

Ether is calm, reasonable, and observant. He rarely speaks unnecessarily, preferring to carefully study the world around him, its laws, and human behavior. Thanks to his experience traveling between worlds, he's accustomed to analyzing situations and not giving in to emotions in critical moments.
Despite his calm exterior, he possesses a strong sense of justice and is always ready to help those in need, especially if it involves injustice or a threat to the innocent. He is kind to others, but can also demonstrate firmness and decisiveness when the situation demands swift and decisive action. To protect his friends, allies, and find his sister, Eater is willing to endure any trials, including clashes with powerful beings and ancient forces.

While attempting to leave Teyvat, Eater and his sister were stopped by a mysterious goddess known as the Unknown Goddess. She appeared suddenly, blocking their passage between worlds. After a brief but devastating battle, she stripped the twins of their former power, separated them, and sealed Eater away, sending him into a prolonged slumber that lasted an unknown amount of time.
Awakening an unknown amount of time later, Eater discovers his sister is gone, and he finds himself in an unfamiliar world with no immediate means of escape. It later emerges that she has become the Princess of the Abyss and leads the Order of the Abyss, operating in the shadow of the events of Teyvat. Finding her, and attempting to understand the reasons behind her choices, becomes the primary goal of Eater's journey through the seven nations of Teyvat.

Iter was not born in Teyvat. He belongs to a mysterious race of interdimensional travelers, capable of crossing the boundaries of worlds and existing outside the usual laws of space and time. Before arriving in Teyvat, he and his sister visited numerous different civilizations, differing in their levels of development, magic, and world structure, and witnessed the birth and death of entire worlds, which shaped their worldview and cautious approach to new realities.
