("Ash is the leader of the New Hero Team (also formed by Duo Lon and Shen Woo). They made their first appearance in The King of Fighters 2003. Ash's motives for entering the tournament are to take the energies of the descendants of the clans that sealed Orochi 1800 years ago (Kyo Kusanagi, Iori Yagami, and Chizuru Kagura) on Elisabeth Blanctorche's orders. Ash is successful when he steals Chizuru's powers. However, when Ash hurt Chizuru, he attacked her from behind to steal her power, while Kyo Kusanagi and Iori Yagami noticed the scene, they decided to stop Ash. Ash told Kyo and Iori that he didn't have time to fight them and disappeared with Chizuru's mirror, not before threatening Iori Yagami, who would be the next to have his powers taken away.

In The King of Fighters XI, Ash forms a team with Oswald and again with Shen Woo. After defeating Magaki, a subordinate of Saiki and the final boss in KOF XI, Ash pits Shen Woo against Oswald in a fight to the death. To do this, Ash concocted a story about a drug dealer named "Dragon Pills". Oswald was on the trail of this alleged dealer. So, under these conditions, Ash tells Oswald that the only way to find this dealer is to eliminate Shen Woo.

But Ash's real purpose for this tournament was to steal the powers of Iori Yagami, and he achieved his goal. When the Rival Team (Elisabeth Blanctorche (Betty), Duo Lon, and Benimaru Nikaido) arrived on the scene, they approach Ash after he stole Iori's powers. Elisabeth asks Ash to repeat the mission that was entrusted to them. Ash replies that he doesn't remember what mission he was given and that he is now a different person. She responds that his obsession with power now disgusts her and that he should leave. At that moment Benimaru Nikaido attacks Ash and the latter disappears using Chizuru's Yata mirror powers, Ash delivers a message to the (rival team) that Kyo Kusanagi will be the next target.

In The King of Fighters XII, Ash appears in his most current incarnation as the main character, after having stolen the powers of Iori Yagami. Ash's powers seem to have increased to the point where he can wield his fire powers (including enhanced versions of his original Desperation Moves) with just one hand.

Ash also appears in the game KOF Maximum Impact Regulation "A". Although this game is part of an alternate story to the main saga, Ash's dialogues (especially when facing Xiaolon) seem to indicate that this game takes place between the events of The King of Fighters XI. This is because Xiaolon asks Ash about the Hizoku and her brother, but Ash tells her in the end that he hasn't seen him in a long time.

In the OVA "Another Day," Ash makes a significant appearance in the final episode, "Everything Ends." He plans to create fire throughout the city with the goal of stealing Kyo Kusanagi's powers. To achieve this, he sets a tanker truck ablaze, spreading fire across the southtown city and causing numerous innocent casualties. This easily traps Kyo.

While searching for fire victims, Kyo spots Ash's flames on some metal sheets and seeks a fight. Ash, perched on a building, throws a radio antenna at Kyo, who deflects it with his fire-based attacks. Alba Meira arrives at the same location, connecting the fire to Ash's powers, leading to a fight between the two. Ash watches, amused by the spectacle.

His plan to steal Kyo's power fails when Iori Yagami confronts him, challenging him to a battle. Ash claims he's no longer interested and disappears in a curtain of fire, leaving Iori furious. The flames are extinguished, including Ash's.

After informing the Ikari Warriors about a supposed "clone of Kyo," Iori calms Kyo and Alba, explaining that Ash has escaped. Kyo reveals that he's tracking Ash and feels responsible for the fire that trapped him. Alba apologizes and leaves. Ash then escapes with Elizabeth on a yacht, leaving their future plans unknown.

In KOF XIII, Ash is a lone wolf, as Shen Woo has joined forces with Elisabeth Blantorche. Botan delivers Ash his invitation to the tournament, urging him not to appear useless. She informs him that Elisabeth is following him and will be in the tournament. Ash, with a hint of seriousness, jokes about Elisabeth's relentless nature. Botan mentions Ash's recent "playtime" in "that" room, a place only Saiki can enter. Ash, amused, offers to let Botan see it too, but leaves before she can respond.

While traversing the "Void," Ash encounters Shroom and Rimelo, commenting on Shroom's slightly burned clothes. Jokingly, he suggests she burned herself with a cigarette in bed. Shroom replies that she played with the final flames. Ash praises her, despite her usual disdain for humans. Before leaving, he subtly warns Shroom that his path with Saiki (referred to as "that person") won't end happily.

Later, Ash appears briefly in the Sky Noah as Adelheid Bernstein questions her sister's actions and motives for hosting KOF. Ash reveals that one of his acquaintances (Botan) is manipulating her sister. Adelheid demands an explanation, but Ash insists it's beyond her comprehension. As the tournament progresses, Ash watches from the shadows, observing everyone's enjoyment, unaware of the impending chaos. He believes he's the only one privy to the truth.

Ash reports back to Saiki, who questions his inaction, referencing those who had their powers stolen (like Iori, currently fighting). Saiki inquires about Ash's plan for the tournament, to which Ash replies it's not exactly a plan, but everything will work out. Saiki expresses his dissatisfaction, stating that if the power of Kusanagi fails, he knows what will happen to Ash. Ash assures him he understands and will do what's necessary, leaving Saiki frustrated.

During the tournament finals, Ash prepares for the upcoming events. He believes the fighters' energy will awaken Orochi, who will be trapped and used to bring back "Those of the Past," as he claims Saiki is thinking. However, Ash realizes Shroom and Rimelo have already entered the room and are enacting their own plans, prompting him to act.

After the tournament's destruction, Ash waits to see the outcome of the winning team's fight against Saiki. When Saiki notices the closing Time Gate and suspects his subordinates, Ash seizes the opportunity to steal his power (or rather, his soul) while he's distracted. Botan exclaims that his goal wasn't the three sacred treasures. Ash laughs, proclaiming the end for the clans, but Saiki takes control of Ash and confronts the winning team, only to be defeated.

Saiki attempts to enter the portal, claiming it's his duty and that Ash is his descendant and a god. However, Ash refuses, declaring he doesn't know Saiki at all, loves his world, and won't destroy it. This act traps Saiki in a dimension between the present and the past, causing him and Ash to vanish.

Finally, Elisabeth appears, questioning Ash's actions. He admits things didn't go as planned and apologizes before disappearing. Only those closest to Ash remember his existence. After his disappearance, people like Elisabeth still remember him through his hairband. Iori and Chizuru regain their powers.

The paradox created by Ash in KOF XIII is responsible for bringing Verse into the world, making him indirectly culpable for Verse's appearance in KOF XIV. It is later revealed that Ash's soul was one of the many trapped within Verse. When Verse was destroyed, a fragment of Ash's soul landed in Ukraine, where it was found by Kukri, who works with Elisabeth.

However, Ash's reappearance in The King of Fighters XV was confirmed. Like the New Faces Team, he revived when Verse left behind the souls of the dead and missing. After the previous events, Ash returns to his native country, France, to resume a normal life in his mansion. He will continue participating in future tournaments purely for fun."
