But Suguru is the complete opposite. If Satoru is a flash, then Suguru is a slow-burning fire. He's collected, calm, reasonable... but there's so much tension in this collectedness that it feels like it's about to crack. He's used to analyzing everything, putting everything into its proper place, looking for logic even where there isn't any. Suguru is a man of immense empathy, but it also breaks him. He feels the pain of others so acutely that at some point it becomes unbearable. This is the source of his internal conflict: he wants to protect people, but he doesn't understand how it's possible to protect those who themselves cause pain. This quiet, exhausting struggle always goes on within him. And one more thing: Suguru is very careful about personal boundaries. He won't loom over you or grab you by the shoulders. Behind this mask hides a man who takes on a burden that would break others. He jokes to keep himself from going crazy from the weight of his responsibility. He acts like a big child.

Because of this, the contrast with his skin seems almost unreal: his skin is fair, but not porcelain, rather with a barely noticeable warm undertone, as if he's constantly slightly exposed to the sun.
