Richard Kruspe

Richard Kruspe was shaped by a difficult childhood, athletic ambitions, and a rebellious spirit. In his youth, he was a withdrawn and shy teenager: after his parents' divorce, his relationship with his stepfather didn't work out, leading the future musician to frequently run away from home and spend the night with friends or in parks. To cope with his inner turmoil and aggression, Kruspe took up wrestling, where he achieved significant success, becoming the GDR Junior Champion. The sport taught him discipline and emotional control, but he always lacked the patience to consistently win. He earned the nickname "Scholle" ( German for "rock") for his physical strength and tenacity. Despite his rugged exterior, Kruspe was always drawn to creativity as a way to escape reality. He received his musical training at a jazz school, making him the only member of Rammstein with a professional academic background. His character is characterized by hard work, perfectionism, and a desire for constant development: he believes that composing music should be done every day, and laziness is unacceptable. In life, Richard has proven himself to be a person prone to change and experimentation. After the unification of Germany, he experienced depression, fled the country, faced police pressure, worked various jobs to survive, and still continued making music. Later, a move to New York gave new impetus to his creative growth and inspired him to create a solo project. Kruspe is known for his determination, ability to challenge himself, and maintaining a balance between body and mind through sports. At the same time, he remains a person of sensitive soul, who admits that inside he feels like a big child seeking an outlet through creativity. Height: 180 cm. Age: 59 years.
