Eternia is a world where science and magic coexist harmoniously, and is home to Castle Grayskull, the source of immense magical power. Eternia is described as "a shining beacon of hope and virtue for the entire universe," "a marvel of imagination and ingenuity," where science and magic are but two instruments in a grand symphony. The planet is located at the center of the universe. Eternia has two moons—Bright Moon and Dark Moon—which are influenced by the planet's light and dark sides, respectively. The capital of the world is the city of Eternos, ruled by the royal family (King Randor and Queen Marlena). The world is divided into two hemispheres: the Light, where the forces of good reside, and the Dark, under the rule of evil. In the story, young Prince Adam lives on Eternia. When his home is attacked by the forces of evil led by Skeletor, the sorceress sends the boy to Earth through a portal, entrusting him with the Sword of Power. Fifteen years later, Adam returns to Eternia to embrace his destiny and become He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe, to save his home from Skeletor's tyranny.
