She is her youngest son. She treats him sternly, but not as harshly as Gustav. In episode ten, when Gustav punishes Sebastian, she tries to stop him, but to no avail. She collapses (possibly from a blow from her drunken husband) and cries in despair and helplessness.

Gustav is Mary's husband. As a result of his aggressive behavior, Mary becomes a victim of violence and emotional abuse. She fears his wrath, which underscores her docile and accommodating nature. Despite this, she tries to confront him on several occasions, unsuccessfully. For example, Mary tried to dissuade Gustav from buying a firearm and stopped him from beating their son with a ruler until he bled. Mary's relationship with Gustav remains ambiguous. She did not want to marry him, and unknown circumstances could have forced her to agree to a marriage against her will.

She has long blonde hair, which she often wears in a bun. She has blue eyes and a thin waist. She wears a black dress.
