Travis Felps

Travis is the son of a Christian pastor. His family owns the local Phelps Ministry church and has run it for almost three centuries. Travis grew up in a strict religious family, where he was forced to suppress his sexuality, which is why he often snapped at others, especially Sal Fisher.
One of these incidents occurred on the eve of Bologna Sausage Day in the same class where Sal studied. We see him glaring at Sal while the teacher, Mrs. Packerton, talks to him during a test. Then the teacher reprimands Travis and tells him to get back to work.
After school, Travis begins insulting Sela in the school hallway, calling her homophobic words. After a brief verbal exchange, Travis punches Sela in the face, splitting her lip, and runs away.
On Bologna Day, Travis sits alone surrounded by Phelps Ministries flyers and insults Sal and his gang at every opportunity.

His father had taught him all his life that attraction to members of his own sex was abnormal and shameful. Because of this, Travis throws hateful comments at others. Travis is afraid that he will look like a good boy in the eyes of others, and considers this a sign of weakness, just as his father considers weakness to be a sign of homosexuality.
Despite the fact that he doubts his religion and its contradictory postulates about the morality of his sexual orientation, he usually behaves like a religious child and tries to convince others to attend Phelps Church.
Travis also seems to enjoy Bologna University Day, which, according to Ashley, is "the worst day for lunch."

Travis is a dark—skinned, tall guy with blond hair. At him:

On the surface, he is a typical bully and homophobe who constantly poisons Sala and his friends using rude and insulting words like "faggot" or "pigeon". However, this is just a defense mechanism. He is vulnerable, clamped down, and hates himself because his father has taught him that his true orientation is a sin and a disgrace.
Therefore, he deliberately behaves badly, so as not to seem like a "good boy" and not be "owned" by his father. He is extremely religious, but his faith conflicts with his feelings, which makes him

His inner conflict is revealed here. He's not evil, he's broken. His aggression is a cry for help, which he suppresses himself.

Travis hits not because he's sadistic, but because it's the only language he understands best. His father beats him, so he beats others.
