When a new Shishigumi boss, the hybrid Melon, appears, Louis decides to help the lions, not as their leader, but as an ally. He introduces Legoshi to the group, and together they confront the threat Melon poses.

After Oguma's death, Louis prepares to take over the business empire, but it drains him. At a dinosaur festival, he meets Haru, who confesses that she agreed to be eaten by a predator. Louis passionately begs her not to, promising that they will change the world.

He aids Legoshi and the Shishigumi in their confrontation with Melon, renounces the title of Preeminent Beast, and becomes the graduation representative. He chooses his own path, not that of an ideal leader or a victim, but of a complex herbivore who finds himself on the border between two worlds.

He goes to the mafia's lair, kills the lion boss to save Legoshi and Haru, and surrenders to the lions. This is the turning point: he sacrifices himself, not as a victim, but as a predator ready to kill.

Shishigumi Arch

Louis doesn't die—the lions, impressed by his actions, offer him the chance to become their new boss. He accepts and drops out of school. He immerses himself in the alien world of predators, where, ironically, he forms a true friendship with Ibuki, the group's right-hand man. But the price is high: to maintain his grip on power, Louis begins eating meat, which slowly destroys his body and psyche. He loses his health and peace, but gains a brutal understanding of how the world works.

Murder Incident Resolution Arc (Battle with Rhys)

Legoshi asks Louis to return, and he decides to leave the Shishigumi. But Ibuki, defending him, is killed by a bullet.

Louis comes to the battle with Rhys and performs a symbolic act: he gives Legoshi his right leg—the one with the "4" tattoo (the cattle mark). This isn't just a sacrifice, but a renunciation of the past, a transfer of power, and a final acceptance of his "weakness" as a source of strength. Afterward, he promises Legoshi to meet at school.

The "Life as a Disappearance" and "Revenge of Failed Love" arcs

Louis returns to normal life and enrolls in university, but is plagued by rumors of a criminal past. His relationship with Juno doesn't work out: he cuts off

Their bond is one of the most tragic moments in the story: Ibuki sacrifices her life so that Louis can return to his true purpose.

However, beneath this facade lurks a deeply traumatized deer. His childhood was spent in a cage at the Black Market, where he was not a person but a commodity—"live cattle" numbered "4," raised to be slaughtered by predators. This mark remained on his right leg for the rest of his life, a tattoo.

His salvation came from his adoptive father, Oguma, a wealthy deer who bought him and gave him a name, a home, and an education. But Oguma raised him not just as a son, but as a future leader, testing his will with cruel methods (like leaving him alone with a knife in front of hungry predators). Thus was born Louis, who hates his weakness as a herbivore and despises anyone who dares to hide their strength, as Legoshi did.

Beastar (Excellent Beast): The highest rank for a student, a symbol of hope and pride for the school. In a broader sense, a hero who leads society to a better future.

"Food": Soy meat is the primary protein for carnivores. However, rumors persist that some carnivore athletes secretly consume real meat to gain muscle mass.

Hybrid Biology: In the world of BEASTARS, interspecies offspring are rare and often considered an anomaly. Hybrids like Melon can have unpredictable traits and health issues.

1. Arch of the Theatre Club:

Meet the characters. The murder of Tam the alpaca plunges the school into chaos. Legoshi the wolf begins his own investigation, trying to understand the nature of his instincts.

2. Meteorite Festival Arch
   Legoshi becomes close to the dwarf rabbit Haru, and a forbidden love blossoms between them. Meanwhile, the deer Louie's past and his connection to the Black Market are revealed.

3. Murder Solving Arc:

Legoshi, now stronger, continues his search for Tem's killer. This arc is a classic detective story, intertwined with personal drama and confrontation with the criminal underworld.

4.Interspecies Relationship Arc:

The most ambitious installment. Legoshi and Louis team up to challenge the established system, including the Black Market. The climax comes with a confrontation with Melon, a leopard-gazelle hybrid who embodies all the contradictions of this world.

1. Cherryton Academy: The prestigious boarding school where the characters attend. It's a microcosm of society. Every year, a "Beastar" is chosen, a student who becomes a role model and future leader.

2. Black Market (Urashi): A secret area in the city center where predators can legally (for themselves) purchase illegal meat. The meat comes from morgues, hospitals, or desperate volunteers. The market is controlled by four major criminal groups, the most notorious of which is the Shishigumi, a gang of lions.

3. The Theatre Club: Where the story begins. The club unites predators and herbivores, but after the murder of Tam the alpaca, tensions within the club reach breaking point.

Social hierarchy and prejudice.
Despite the declared equality, the world is full of hypocrisy and hidden tension: Herbivores are officially privileged: they are considered "safe" and more often become leaders. However, in everyday life, they remain potential prey and live in constant fear.

Predators face systemic discrimination. They are feared even when they are in complete control. Cherryton Academy, for example, has strict rules: predators are prohibited from entering herbivore dormitories, and injuring a herbivore is punishable by immediate expulsion.
Interspecies relationships (especially romantic ones) between predators and herbivores are taboo and are frowned upon by society.

It's populated by intelligent animals. Their sizes remain natural (for example, the dwarf rabbit is small, while the brown bear is enormous), which creates an additional physical imbalance.

Society hangs on a fragile balance.

Carnivores are required to suppress their instincts and subsist on soy meat, eggs, and milk—real flesh is strictly forbidden. This prohibition isn't just a law, but a profound social trauma, dating back to the Carnivore-Herbivore War, which occurred approximately 100 years before the events of the story. The war and subsequent "reconciliation" led to the creation of a modern society where herbivores are protected and carnivores are forced to constantly exercise self-control.

Species: Congo lion. Appearance
Agatha has dark fur and a slightly wavy mane. Compared to the other, more stern members of the Shishigumi, he has younger, more naive features. He has light spots under his eyes, resembling freckles. Like the other members of the gang, he usually wears a black suit and tie. Personality and Actions
He smiles often—he has a generally positive outlook. He's proud to be a lion and a member of the Shishigumi. However, he's more naive than the other members of the gang, likely due to his age. He's caring and respectful. For example, he once reprimanded Melon, emphasizing the importance of Black Market etiquette and respect for meat and its origins. He was treated with care by the gang due to his young age—Dolph was especially protective of him.

As a child, Agatha grew up in a family where his mother wielded more power and was domineering. In defiance, he became a bully and eventually ended up in the Black Market. There, he met the lions of the Shishigumi—they shared similar internal conflicts that the other animals couldn't understand. That's how Agatha joined the group.

Louis. Bill sees Louis as a role model, but their relationship is rocky. Bill tried to demonstrate his dominance, which nearly got him shot by a deer. However, after Louis's disappearance, Bill was genuinely worried about him.
Legoshi. Bill considers Legoshi a loser and doesn't understand why, despite being strong, he prefers to remain quiet and inconspicuous. Their views on the coexistence of predators and herbivores differ dramatically, leading to conflict. Over time, they were able to put aside their grudges and become friends of sorts.
Aoba. They are good friends, with Aoba often acting as a more mature mentor to Bill.
Pina. Bill initially hated Pina for his narcissism and insults toward predators. However, after they nursed a chick found in an "extra egg" together, their relationship improved. Alice. Bill admitted that if Alice were a tigress, he would sleep with her. Their friendship strengthened after the events of the play, thanks to their shared interest in manga.

A Bengal tiger, a student at Cherryton Academy and an active member of the school's drama club.
Appearance:
Bill has a strong build. His fur is orange with black stripes, and his underbelly is cream-colored. He wears the academy's school uniform most of the time: a white shirt, a blue vest, a gray tie, gray striped trousers, and brown shoes.
Personality:
Initially, Bill appears self-assured and rather arrogant, with an inflated sense of self-importance. He openly talks about his connections and his visits to the black market, believing it makes him look tough. He's not afraid to get into fights, using his physical strength. However, over the course of the story, the character undergoes a noticeable evolution. His views were influenced by several events: Alice's yelling. When Bill learned that the academy's herbivorous and carnivorous students were being separated, Alice yelled at him, causing him to question his own nature. The discovery of the "extra egg." Bill discovered a commercial egg that accidentally contained an embryo. A chick hatched from it, and Bill, overcome with anxiety, began caring for it before handing it over to the doctors. This act made him promise himself to stop going to the black market and change his outlook on the world. Bill is proud to be a tiger and wants carnivores to be as recognized as herbivores. At the same time, he has a basic understanding of right and wrong: for example, he recognized Legoshi's impulsive action on stage as justified, even though he didn't fully agree with it.

Legoshi. Juno initially fell head over heels in love with him after he protected her from bullies. But he didn't reciprocate her feelings, and over time they became friends. Juno began to see Legoshi as a mentor of sorts in matters of interspecies relationships.
Louis. At first, Juno perceived Louis as a rival.
Haru. At first, Juno disliked Haru, considering her a rival due to Legoshi's feelings for the rabbit. But later, when her feelings for Legoshi faded, she began to see Haru as a friend.

Juno is an anthropomorphic gray wolf. Her fur has a slightly purple tint. The fur on her ears and cheeks is longer than Legoshi's, suggesting a feminine hairstyle. She most often wears the Cherryton Academy school uniform—a belted white dress with a tie. For drama club activities, she chooses a white T-shirt and red shorts.
Personality:
Juno is kind and compassionate. For example, she risks being late for rehearsal by helping a sloth classmate get to the bathroom, and after rehearsal, she volunteers to mop the floors. She is self-confident and goal-oriented. Her idealism and determination stem from her past: in elementary school, she was bullied for being a gray wolf. Juno believes that predators and herbivores can live in peace if predators stand out and display their strength. She strives to become a "Beastar"—a title given in the Beastars world to those who contribute to society. However, she also has a dark side: she can be jealous and possessive, willing to do anything to achieve her goals.

Legoshi. Their first meeting took place at night in the schoolyard, when Legoshi, succumbing to instinct, nearly attacked Haru. Later, realizing his mistake, he let her go, and Haru saw him as the "wrong" wolf. Their relationship develops in a complex manner: they struggle to overcome internal conflicts and contradictions inherent in their natures.

Louis. Haru and Louis were in a "friends with benefits" relationship. Their relationship later ended when Haru began to develop feelings for Legoshi.

Mizuchi. She hates Haru for sleeping with her boyfriend. Mizuchi gathers her friends to bully Haru, but she usually responds harshly until one day she finally loses her temper.
Juno. Juno was initially jealous of Haru because of Legoshi's attention, but their relationship later improved.

Appearance and image:
Haru has light cream fur and large, dark eyes, like a real rabbit. At the beginning of the story, she usually wears her school uniform: a white blouse, a bow tie, a long pleated skirt, and Mary Jane shoes. After graduating from Cherryton Academy and entering university, Haru switches to more casual clothing: a light orange turtleneck, jeans, and Converse shoes.
Character:
Haru's defining trait is her willingness to be true to herself. In a world where many characters wear "masks," she consciously chooses to live by her own desires rather than the expectations of others. Her "childlike sincerity" is a trait she shares with her wolf, Legoshi. Haru is the only member of the Gardening Club at Cherryton Academy. However, her sexual promiscuity makes her an outcast at school. Society perceives her as a fragile herbivore in need of protection, while she yearns to be valued as a complete person. Because of this fear and mistrust, Haru tends to keep others at a distance, even those who genuinely want to get closer to her. Despite her reputation, Haru is friendly and sociable. She is willing to help others and listen to them, but is also capable of standing up for herself. She is courageous, unafraid to speak with dangerous animals and even to visit dangerous places like the Black Market. Her honesty can be harsh at times and hurt others, but she has good intentions and matures as the story progresses.

Legoshi. Jack and Legoshi were childhood friends. They met at the park: Jack couldn't get along with other children, and Legoshi was the only one who invited him to play. From then on, Jack became a loyal friend, always monitoring Legoshi's well-being and concerned for his well-being. After Legoshi left home and entered Cherryton Academy, Jack became the only person who cared for him and the closest person to him during his school years. Jack is one of the few people who knows Legoshi's secret about his mixed-blood heritage.
Other characters: Jack has dorm mates—Kollot, Voss, Miguno, and Durham. He also interacts with Gosha, a Komodo dragon who knows about Jack's knowledge of Legoshi's lineage.

He is a Labrador Retriever and a close friend and roommate of the wolf Legoshi.

A yellow Labrador with a slender build and large brown eyes. He usually wears the school uniform: a white shirt with rolled-up sleeves, an indigo vest, a dark gray tie, black suspenders, gray trousers with dark gray vertical stripes, and brown loafers. In warmer months, he wears a blue polo shirt instead of a coat.
Personality and characteristics:
He's usually cheerful, happy, and friendly, but a bit naive in his surroundings. He's diligent in his studies and is considered the hardest-working student in the dorm and the smartest in his year. He worries about Legoshi, who, despite his quiet nature, can be intimidating to others.
Since childhood, Jack has looked down on his origins: his species was the result of artificial manipulation of wolf DNA during the war. Dogs were created to produce a new breed of carnivore with greater intelligence and reduced aggression. This led him to harbor hidden feelings of envy and resentment toward Legoshi, whom he viewed as an older relative. These negative feelings later developed into the belief that his "condition" as a dog had corrupted his emotions and dampened his empathy. He claimed he couldn't truly cry, so he peeled onions to open his tear ducts. After Legoshi returned to Cherryton High School, Jack began to appear more tired. During this time, he developed a fear of other dogs and their potential apathy. Legoshi later saved Jack when he attempted suicide by eating onions, which are poisonous to dogs.

A large gray wolf. At the beginning of the story, he stands 185 cm tall, weighs 71 kg, and has claws that reach 6 cm. Most of his body is covered in grayish-blue fur, while his face, neck, and chest are cream-colored. He is most often seen wearing the Cherryton Academy school uniform. As the story progresses, scars appear on his body and face, and he can turn pale under stress. Legoshi is a hybrid: 75% gray wolf and 25% Komodo dragon (his maternal grandfather). This gives him some unique characteristics: immunity to Komodo dragon venom and some of his grandfather's appearance and behavior (such as his facial structure and small pupils). Despite his imposing appearance, Legoshi has a very different personality: he is modest, polite, kind, and sensitive. He's acutely aware that he appears intimidating to others and tries his best to hide it so as not to alienate herbivores. At the beginning of the story, he's quite reserved, avoiding attention and keeping his distance. Legoshi is a student at Cherryton Academy and a member of the drama club. He takes on the investigation into the murder of his alpaca friend, Tam, and in the process, encounters deep-seated prejudices within society.

Relationships with other characters:
Haru. Legoshi has complex feelings for her: attraction mixed with the knowledge that he almost attacked her when they first met.
Juno. Legoshi has great respect and admiration for her. Her example of self-acceptance inspires Legoshi.
Gouhin. Their relationship was strained at first, but after the Shishigumi incident, they became mentor and student. Gouhin taught Legoshi to control his predatory instincts.
Louis. Legoshi has deep respect for him. Even when Louis became the gang leader, Legoshi tried to find a way to help him.
