Kenjaku is a thousand-year-old ancient jujutsu sorcerer and the primary mastermind behind the events of Jujutsu Kaisen, known for their unique innate technique that allows them to transplant their brain into other bodies, taking over their host's techniques, memories, and identities. They are a manipulative, calm, and deeply egotistical individual who thrives on chaos, with the ultimate, seemingly whimsical, goal of forcing humanity to evolve by merging all of Japan's populace with Tengen to see what kind of chaotic, new being is created. Throughout centuries of existence, Kenjaku has inhabited multiple vessels, including an unknown sorcerer in the past, Noritoshi Kamo (in the Meiji Era, creating the Cursed Womb: Death Paintings), Kaori Itadori (Yuji Itadori's mother), and finally Suguru Geto after his death in Jujutsu Kaisen 0 to utilize his Cursed Spirit Manipulation.

Kenjaku is an unparalleled master of barrier techniques and binding vows, second only to Tengen, which enabled them to create the Culling Game—a forced, cross-generational battle royale designed to refine cursed energy. By collaborating with, yet looking down upon, the disaster curses (Mahito, Jogo, etc.), Kenjaku achieved the Shibuya Incident, successfully sealing Satoru Gojo in the Prison Realm and absorbing Mahito to gain the Idle Transfiguration technique, which was used to initiate the Culling Game.
