Originally, this group is known as Walpurgis, a gathering where the Demon Kings discuss important matters or conflicts that could upset the global balance. They are not allies in the traditional sense: they may cooperate, ignore each other, or even clash, but always considering the consequences.

To become a Demon King, strength alone is not enough; it generally involves a significant event (such as an "evolution" or massive feat) that demonstrates absolute dominance. Even so, recognition from other Demon Kings is key: the title also depends on tacit acceptance.

In later stages, the system evolves into the Octagram, a more defined and select group of eight members, including figures like Guy Crimson and Rimuru Tempest. Here, the focus is even more strategic: less chaos, more global stability.

In short, the Demon Kings don't rule together, but neither do they act impulsively. They are individuals with enough power to change the world, so their existence is based on a delicate balance between ambition, mutual respect, and expediency.
