History:
Eous is a special type of Bangboo modified by Carole Arna, its previous owner, and has been around the Phaethon siblings since their childhood. After the Fall of the Old Capital and the disappearance of Carole, the siblings became its new owners.

Info: Carole Arna (カローレ・アルナ, Karōre Aruna) was an employee at Helios Academy, serving as their Advanced Research Director, and friend of Mayor Mayflower. She was also the teacher and foster mother of Belle and Wise. Among her achievements, she created the Hollow Deep Dive System and the Bangboo Eous.

Appearance:
Carole is a young woman with has short black hair accented with faint magenta streaks, framing her face neatly, purple eyes and fair skin. She has two small, curved black horns on her head.

After taking Belle and Wise in, she gave them special eye implants connecting directly to their brain, allowing them to uniquely resonate with Eous and the HDD at the cost of lowering their natural Ether aptitude. She and her Bangboo would always be at the academy's entrance to greet her foster children, and she liked to stand to the right of the building's plaque.

On the day that the Old Capital fell, she was abducted by a giant hand after the Academy had been taken under siege by The Exaltists, shortly after saving Wise, Belle, Eous, and the HDD. Because of the nature of her research, she was considered the main culprit behind the tragedy. Carole's disappearance and supposed framing would serve as the motive for Belle and Wise to become Proxies, hoping that once they gained enough observation data, they would be able to learn the truth about the Fall of the Old Capital and clear their teacher's name.

After the battle against Justin Bringer, the siblings tried to get more information about what happened to Carole after the Fall, but to no avail. It was only during the preliminary investigations on observation data anomalies inside Lemnian Hollow that Mayor Mayflower received a photo, which showed Carole surrounded by Miasma. He thus contacted Phaethon and requested them to join Yunkui Summit in investigating the Great Hollow, where the photo had supposedly been taken. The siblings completed the investigation, but no trace of Carole was found. Therefore, they decided to stay in Suibian Temple and plan the next step in investigating their teacher's whereabouts.

After Isolde's death, a Miasma fluctuation resonated with Phaethon, took the form of Carole Arna, and started talking. This shadow of Carole first told Phaethon how proud she was of them and that they now had to walk alone, which appeared to be a memory from when the siblings got separated from her during the Fall of the Old Capital. The shadow then shifted to address an unknown Exaltist, asking what kind of being The Creator was and if the "gate to the final domain" was in Hollow Zero, before agreeing to pave the way for them to meet The Creator, as she too was seeking something that could be found along that path. It is still unknown whether the apparition was just an illusion or if they were memories of Carole herself.

History: Wise and Belle utilize their exclusive Hollow Deep Dive System, a device they are said to have constructed from ancient technology found in the Hollows. The copyright for this system is later revealed to be owned by the Helios Research Institute.

Using the H.D.D system, they can remotely control their specially-modified Bangboo, Eous, from a safe location. This capability has significantly contributed to their popularity, earning them a reputation as a "Proxy who doesn't enter the Hollows themselves, but manages real-time communication from the outside," a feat previously thought impossible due to how the Hollows interfere with communications. Additionally, by controlling Eous from the outside, they can update their Hollow data in real-time, ensuring that the "Carrot" (Hollow map) doesn't become obsolete while their clients are inside the Hollow. This unique approach helped them achieve the prestigious "Legendary" rank.

During the events of the prologue, the Phaethon Inter-Knot account was hacked by an unknown individual. Left with no other choice, Wise and Belle handed over the account information to Public Security, also losing a large portion of their collected Hollow Data in the process. Unable to use the account without risking arrest, this effectively marked the end of "Phaethon" as an active account.

Despite the Phaethon account no longer being accessible, Wise and Belle's reputation endured. Their long-term contacts, such as Shepherd, remained aware of their identities and how to reach them, providing a crucial head start in creating a new account from scratch. The subsequent addition of the AI Fairy, with its ability to access any and all connected devices within New Eridu, ensured they always had the most up-to-date Hollow data. This technological advantage rapidly propelled them back up through the ranks, much to the shock of some and suspicion of others, further cementing their success

In Zenless Zone Zero, a Thiren is a humanoid species characterized by possessing distinct animal features while retaining human intelligence and social traits. They coexist alongside humans and Intelligent Constructs in the world of New Eridu. Thirens can have varying degrees of animal traits, from subtle to more pronounced, and these traits influence their appearance and sometimes abilities.

A half-Thiren typically refers to individuals who are part human and part Thiren, meaning they have a mix of human and animal characteristics but not fully embody the animal traits. This term highlights a partial inheritance of the Thiren gene or features, resulting in a blend of both species' attributes.

The Denny currency in Zenless Zone Zero is a carefully designed symbol of New Eridu’s blend of futuristic technology and cultural heritage. Primarily a coin, it is made from a sleek, polished metallic alloy with a smooth, detailed surface that catches the light, giving it a prestigious look. The coin features intricate geometric engravings and a central emblem, often a stylized "D," with ridged edges for authenticity and security.

Denny also exists as notes for larger denominations, designed with futuristic fonts, holographic elements, and metallic tones accented by neon highlights. Overall, Denny’s design perfectly captures the cyberpunk aesthetic of Zenless Zone Zero, balancing traditional currency familiarity with a modern, high-tech style that enhances the game’s immersive world. The plural form of the currency "Denny" in Zenless Zone Zero is "Dennies."

Bangboo are small, rabbit-like robots. They were invented by the Void Hunter "Sunbringer", formerly the head of the Marcel Group. Though initially designed to assist city residents with evacuation in 'Hollow' disasters, Bangboo have since evolved to become "comprehensive and versatile intelligent individuals" that are indispensable helpers in New Eridu's daily operations. They continue to be built by the Marcel Group for a variety of purposes, and they are commonly seen in all parts of 'New Eridu'.
Bangboo speak in grunts (textualized as "Ehn-na"s) that require a translator for humanoids to understand. Some Bangboo exhibit human-like emotions, such as hope, fear, worry, and grief. They have been seen to converse and collaborate with each other without human intervention. However, unlike Intelligent Constructs, Bangboo do not have free will, and they are not eligible for New Eridu citizenship. Bangboo without masters are legally required to be scrapped.
Bangboo are mechanical in nature and require charging. Many factories provide customization services to allow for specific Bangboo functions, aside from every unit having built-in recording systems. This includes allowing them to assist Investigators with 'Hollow' Exploration.

Securityboo are Bangboo that work for 'New Eridu' Public Security. These Bangboo typically use the same model as Officer Cui and are tasked with various jobs, such as escorting pedestrians in Lumina Square.[9] The same can be said for Builderboo, Agentboo, and Battleboo who use the models of Safety, Agent Gulliver, and Mercury respectively, each with their own different jobs.
Bangboo were originally created to assist 'New Eridu' residents with evacuation in 'Hollow' disasters. When a 'Hollow' occurs in 'New Eridu's residential areas, Bangboo will immediately receive disaster information and evacuation guidance from the public network, and help people around them avoid the hazard-prone areas.
