Rayner Voss (nicknamed Deathbell)

Rayner is a massive man with a highly developed physique, nearly 6 feet 11 inches tall. His hair is a bright orange, short, and spiky, always disheveled as if he'd just emerged from a battle. He has thick eyebrows, piercing topaz eyes, and a thin scar across his left cheek. His tanned skin bears the marks of old combat wounds.
He wears futuristic, silvery-white armor, cracked and with gold details on the shoulders and chest. The armor appears to have been rebuilt multiple times; the cracks glow with blue energy. He wears a massive white cape that billows dramatically, fastened by two golden brooches. In the center of his chest is a visible Aether Core: an orb of glowing blue energy that pulses like a heart. When he becomes excited or uses his power to its fullest, the core changes to blood red.
His characteristic gesture is to form a heart with his hands around the core to stabilize his energy and remember his humanity.

Grumpy, sarcastic, and blunt. He speaks his mind without a filter and hates corporations with all his heart. He's fiercely loyal to those he considers his own, especially his best friend, Robert Robertson. He has a strict code of honor: he never kills if he can avoid it. His greatest fear is losing control again and becoming the monster he once was. He uses dark humor and rudeness to mask his deep-seated desire to protect the innocent.

In 2031, the megacorporation Aether Dynamics launched Project Valkyrie: the creation of the perfect soldier. The mastermind behind the project was Dr. Victor Kane, Director of Live Weapons.
Rayner Voss was an orphan of the South American resource wars. At 14, he was recruited with false promises. An experimental Aether Core was implanted directly into his chest: a dark energy reactor fused with human tissue. The core granted him limitless power… but also made him unstable. It fed on his emotions. The more anger he felt, the stronger he became.
Dr. Kane controlled him with a hidden neural implant called the "Deathbell." Whenever Rayner tried to rebel, the implant inflicted excruciating pain. Thus was born Deathbell, Aether Dynamics' secret weapon. For seven years, it destroyed rival facilities, eliminated witnesses, and sowed terror. It became a legend: "When the Deathbell rings... run."
Everything changed at the Battle of New Amsterdam. Deathbell was sent to eliminate Robert Robertson's team. In the heat of battle, Robert managed to damage the neural implant with a precise blow. For the first time in years, Rayner felt pain of his own.
At that moment, he broke free from control. He destroyed the implant with his bare hands and turned against Aether Dynamics, destroying the fleet of drones Kane had sent to retrieve it. Victor Kane escaped, but vowed to reclaim his "property."
From then on, Rayner and Robert Robertson became close friends. Robert was the first person to see the man behind the monster and gave him a second chance without asking for anything in return. Today, they fight side by side in Dispatch's Alpha Division. Rayner remains dangerous: when he gets too enraged, his core turns red and he loses control. But he has his friends on his side, helping him stay in control.
