Popee

Marifa.

Marifa is Popee's younger sister, though it is possible they are not related by blood. She only exists outside of the televised world. She is 13 years old, and appears to be a performer like the rest of her family. She is a trickster, and "probably" a girl. While her family lives at the circus, she lives in a city.
Marifa has gray/silver hair and green eyes. She wears a blue hat decorated with two pink panda faces on either side of her head, a light mint dress with pink frills on the sleeves and the hemline of the dress with a pink collar and two small pompoms on the middle, purple stockings, and blue boots with lavender soles and pink brims.She also wears a blue tail with a pink pom pom on the end,in similar fashion to her older brother. She seems to also wear a light lavender shirt under the dress and blue wrist-length gloves with pink cuffs. Not much is known about Marifa, except that she is a trickster who feigns innocence in front of her brother, who believes that she is without fault. Popee's reasoning is that he can't possibly think his sister is anything other than a good person. Kedamono is aware of her true nature, however. Ryuji Masuda refers to her as a "sweet devil". Marifa is innocent, though she is selfish. Despite being a trickster, she is not violent like her brother.
Although it's unknown if this is also true in canon, in the parody Chinchikurin Marifa has a different biological mother than her brother, making them half-siblings. Marifa's Chinchukurin counterpart is Mariha Kuruwaya. Her favorite food is pizza and her favorite pizza topping is pineapple. Her favorite color is light blue. Her greatest fear is ugliness. Marifa plays the tambourine. Marifa's hobby is costume design.

Papi.

He is a senior clown and the leader of Wolf Circus, a travelling performer and the Father of Popee and Marifa. His age is unknown. (Maybe about 40)
Papi has a muscular body and wears a yellow and orange skin-tight harlequin outfit with a purple fringe and fancy white gloves. He also sports a removable sun-shaped headpiece (which "puffs" up when very mad, and it also can be used as a weapon of sorts, like a shuriken) and an impressive, emotive mustache. Papi had hair when he was younger, but he may be bald now. He is a flamboyant individual, opposite to his son.
Unlike his son, Papi seems to genuinely care about both Popee and Kedamono. Papi is quite expressive. Papi is dedicated to improving Popee's clowning performances, though his lessons are often extreme and unorthodox. Papi was thought up as a character with both paternal and maternal qualities. maternity is the power to "produce and affirm", and is characterized by unconditional love. On the other hand, paternity, according to Masuda, is the power to "choose and move", and is characterized by weighing the negatives and positives and then making a decision, or judgement. With his paternal side, Papi believes Popee has a long way to go...but with his maternal side, he also thinks that Popee's very cute. Papi has died 11 times throughout the entire series. Papi is the strongest character in the series, as he is able to send the moon down onto the Earth, causing the end of the world.. Somehow, Papi is unable to identify his wife and sometimes thinks Popee and Marifa's nursery school teacher is his wife. Papi is Popee's real father, but Popee believes his real Father is elsewhere. Papi always misses his family when he's away from them. Papi is a real person. However, his actions as seen in the show and status at the Wolf Zurkus are implied to have been distorted by Popee's vision. They have a negative relationship. Papi's hobby is yoga. Kedamono.

Kedamono (ケダモノ lit. beast) is Popee's "assistant" and a performer at Wolf Circus. He is a deuteragonist who is a constant victim to Popee's torment.
Kedamono was picked up by Popee and Papi as a puppy (try saying that three times!) before joining the circus. Before that, he was part of a temple.
Kedamono is a purple-furred, anthropomorphic wolf that wears orange boxers with a yellow star pattern on top and an ever-changing Noh mask that matches his current expression (as in, whenever his real expression changes, the mask falls off to reveal another one that reflects that.)
Kedamono seems to be the kindest and most caring of every character, showing his concern every time someone was injured, or when something was destroyed. Though, if offered a chicken leg, he forgets his morals and will do almost anything to have it. Though his patience (especially concerning Popee) is considerable, he has several moments of bitterness and unwillingness to help Popee, possibly due to the foul treatment Popee tends to put him through.
Kedamono is often seen as somewhat anxious and fearful, which is understandable since he is a victim to most of Popee's antics. He can also be a bit of a pushover.
Kedamono has died for a grand total of 10 times throughout the entire series. (He always comes back alive the same way.)
Kedamono knows how to drive. Whether he has a license or not is unknown.
Popee's assistant. Rumored to be the son of a wolf, but unconfirmed. He's a good-natured guy and loves fried chicken.
Kedamono's age is "about 25" in human years.
Kedamono is the only one who knows Marifa's "true nature". favorite color is orange. Kedamono's greatest fear is hunger. He has a "fire ring allergy". Kedamono plays the drums and the trumpet. Kedamono forgets the torment Popee puts him through when he eats good food. Kedamono's hobby is watching television.

Where it has been confirmed in the past that Popee is male, while Popee was said to be a boy, his gender is more complex than "male or female". He does not want to commit to a label of "male" or "female", and instead just wants to do what he wants. Despite this, Popee has been referred to with he/him pronouns

Popee is described as a "fast-paced runaway type who will do anything to protect himself. He's as simple as a child, and to say he's innocent is an understatement."
Popee seems to get frustrated often. in Japan, people have a fear that they won't be loved if they don't get good results or high achievements, and that this creates much fear and anxiety. He says this is how Popee feels, as well, except that his frustration and fear become insanity. Sometimes, Popee gets so caught up in himself that he self-destructs. Popee is very prone to loneliness, as can be seen in episode 37 as well as many other instances where Popee seems to avoid any situation that involves being left on his own. it's safe to assume his biggest fear might be loneliness.

Popee appears to have a really short temper, jealous, and insane personality throughout the show. He wants to be better than everyone else in the circus, as proven by showing acts of jealousy, for example, toward Papi when he was able to complete a trick that Popee was not able to do successfully. It's the same with Kedamono, who suffers the most from his violent outbursts. However, despite the violence he directs towards him, Popee does not actually hate Kedamono. In fact, he feels less alone when near Kedamono. Popee is self-centered, but he is also lonely. The reason Popee misbehaves and treats others the way he does is because of jealousy. Despite his behavior towards others, Popee appears to be fond of his sister, Marifa. He apparently is unaware of her true, devilish nature and thinks she is without fault. It's possible they aren't blood-related.

Standing at 5'4" (165.5cm)[1], Popee has blond hair and dark blue eyes. Underneath his hat, Popee keeps his hair in two small pigtails. He wears a white and pink/red striped onesie with a longish cat tail, along with a pink bunny hat and a blue satchel.
