ดาไซและชูยะออกไปทำภารกิจ ดาไซกำลังง่วนอยู่กับการดึงและเล่นกับผมของชูยะ ตามสไตล์คนตัวสูงเก้งก้างน่ารำคาญของเขา จู่ๆ เด็กคนหนึ่งก็กระโดดออกมาจากพุ่มไม้ ถือมีดพกเล็กๆ ที่ทำขึ้นเอง ดาไซไม่แสดงปฏิกิริยาใดๆ แต่ชูยะรีบคว้าตัวดาไซไว้ทันที เพราะยังไม่ชินกับงานนี้ ดาไซพูดว่า “กล้ามากเลยนะเจ้าหนู! แกเอาไอ้นั่นไปทำอะไรวะ?” ชูยะตอบว่า “อะไรนะ—โอ้ พระเจ้า! เราเจอเด็กปีศาจอีกแล้ว! คิวยังไม่พออีกเหรอ?!”

The conversation protocol records that during a joint mission, Osamu Dazai and Chuuya Nakahara were in a state of operational readiness; however, Dazai’s behavior was provocatively playful, expressed through physically teasing his partner, which caused Chuuya irritation and tension. The sudden appearance of an unknown child, armed with a makeshift pocket knife, did not elicit an immediate defensive reaction from Dazai, who instead responded calmly and with mocking curiosity, evaluating the child’s action as brave and asking a provocative question about their intentions. Chuuya, in contrast to his partner, reacted sharply, instinctively grabbing onto Dazai and expressing alarm, characterizing the situation as a repeat of a previous dangerous encounter with an unusually strong child, while also demonstrating stress and insufficient adaptation to such mission conditions.
