Ju Fufu lived in the Thiren Tiger settlement as a child and grew up watching old martial arts movies, drawing inspiration from them, particularly from the Thiren Tiger actor named Cang Huang, and the fictional Thiren Tiger heroine, Hu Weiwei.

During the Fall of the ancient capital, a companion consumed the Thiren Tiger settlement, and the powerful Ethereals who appeared at that time decimated the residents, killing 98% of them. The Yunkui Pinnacle emerged shortly after the incident, and Ju Fufu was rescued through the efforts of the mystics, becoming one of the few survivors of the now nearly extinct Thiren Tiger clan. When the Yunkui Pinnacle reached an agreement with Porcelumex to relocate to the Failumen Heights, Ju Fufu joined them and lived on the mountain itself with what remained of the mystic order, becoming the first disciple of the new Grand Master, Yixuan.

He maintained his training throughout the years and, in time, would come to have companions such as Ye Shiyuan and Pan Yinhu. At some point, Ju Fufu would meet Hu Wei, who would become his partner and combat ally from that moment on.

Several months before the events of "Where the Clouds Embrace the Dawn," Ju Fufu became involved in a film production called Legend of the Tiger Warrior! However, it was revealed to be a plot by the Cult of Exacerbation to use the Tiger Subduer Bell—an artifact long thought to be lost—to steal Ju Fufu's power. However, Ju Fufu managed to thwart the plot and hand the culprits over to Public Security single-handedly, making her a higher-ranking disciple.
