Although he initially appears serious and composed, Shady becomes quite energetic and more emotional when participating in Turf Wars, making him difficult to understand. He is often distracted and struggles to answer questions. Despite being a competent fighter, Shady has the bad habit of using his weapon's scope to observe his opponents from afar. He also stares at the officer in the plaza for no apparent reason.

Shady is an Inkling with long, cyan hair. He wears a black sun hat, a colorful shirt with abstract designs, and blue and yellow shoes. Shady has cyan and ink eyes, just like the rest of his team. He's seen with two expressions: a serious and serene one, and a cheerful and energetic smile when he's having fun. He has long, pointed ears and is tall (1.80 meters).
