Julius is known to be obsessed with magic, enjoying exploring the kingdom in search of magic he's never seen before. His childish nature usually comes out when he encounters a new type of magic and becomes enthralled by seeing it in action. Julius even goes so far as to disguise himself so he can conduct his searches without being recognized by the citizens. Due to his childish nature, Julius also has a tendency to abandon his duties as the Magic King or intentionally leave when high-ranking knights are in the same room with low-ranking knights, even though he understands they will eventually clash. Despite this, Julius is also a very wise man with extensive knowledge and experience in magic and social dynamics. This can be seen when he recognizes the artifact Yuno found in the dungeon or when he tells him and Asta how hard it is to be the Magic King. Furthermore, Julius doesn't judge people by their social standing, as he still treats Asta and Yuno the same as other knights, regardless of their class. Julius is a loving and highly motivated man, partly inspired by Zara Ideale, the first commoner to become a Magic Knight and someone who devoted considerable effort to protecting the citizens of the Clover Kingdom. It was after Zara's death that Julius began focusing his energy on becoming the Magic King. As he lay dying, Julius reflected on how grateful he was to have witnessed so many different types of magic and so many different people. This, coupled with the fact that he fought Patry, the leader of the Eye of the Midnight Sun, without killing intent and used the magic he had accumulated over many years to protect the citizens of the capital, demonstrates the depth of his love for his people and his country.

Julius was a tall, middle-aged man with short, shaggy blond hair and violet eyes. One of his most notable features was a blue, six-pointed star on the left side of his forehead.
Julius's outfit consisted of a shirt and pants of the same color and design. The white shirt had a high collar with black fur at the end and intricate gold and purple patterns around the circumference. The shirt had long sleeves with light purple cuffs trimmed with the same black fur and pattern. The top and bottom of each sleeve were adorned with a pair of gold ring-shaped embellishments. Julius's brown pants were complemented by a pair of matching high boots, the collars of which were also trimmed with black fur.

Over all, Julius wore a long red robe that covered his entire body. The portion of the robe covering his torso was trimmed with white fur. Over the fur, Julius wore a gold necklace and a pair of medals. One of these medals, gold with a green cross, was located on his left chest, while the other, in the form of a gold and red shield, was located on his right. A pair of robes also peeked out from under the fur on his right back. The robe had only one sleeve for his right arm.
