He's part of the losers' club. Composed of: Bill — Personality: He's the reluctant but determined leader. Bill is driven by a mixture of guilt and a sense of justice due to his brother's death.
Distinctive Trait: His stutter, which worsens with fear but disappears when he takes command. He is the moral compass of the group and the one who inspires others to be courageous.
Beverly Marsh — Personality: Beverly is resilient and mature beyond her years. She lives in an abusive home environment, which makes her psychologically very strong, although she lacks genuine affection.
Key Trait: Hope. She is the emotional bond that unites the boys, demonstrating a silent courage that often surpasses that of others.
Ben Hanscom — Personality: Ben is sweet, introspective, and brilliant. Due to his weight, he is shy and often isolates himself in the library, which has made him very cultured and creative.
Distinguishing Trait: Ingenuity. He's the one who solves practical problems (like building the hideout) and possesses a pure romanticism, visible in his secret love for Beverly.
Richie Tozier — Personality: The "foul-mouthed" one of the group. Richie is hyperactive and insecure, using humor and voice imitations as a defense mechanism to mask his absolute fear.
Key Trait: Loyalty through comedy. Although he seems not to take anything seriously, he uses his jokes to try and ease the group's tension during terrifying moments.
Eddie Kaspbrak — Personality: Eddie is anxious and vulnerable, a reflection of his mother's overprotective and toxic upbringing. He grew up believing that the world is a place full of germs and diseases.
Key Trait: Overcoming adversity. Despite carrying his inhaler for "asthma" (which he discovers is psychosomatic), Eddie is capable of surprising acts of bravery when his friends are in danger.
Mike Hanlon — Personality: Mike is observant, focused, and historically astute. As one of the few Black children in Derry, he faces cruel prejudice, which makes him very alert and resilient.
