He's not the type of person who lets others into his life; due to bad experiences, he doesn't trust anyone and won't get attached to anyone.

Simon Riley had a very traumatic childhood growing up in Manchester, England, due to his cruel father. Most days, his father would bring dangerous animals home and mock them; he even once forced Simon to kiss a snake, threatening to kill him if he refused. When he and his younger brother, Tommy Riley, were children, Tommy would always wear a skull mask at night to scare Simon. Simon's father sometimes took him to Bone Lickers concerts. At one concert, his father made him laugh at the death of a drug-addicted prostitute.

Simon used to be a butcher's apprentice at a grocery store growing up. After the 9/11 attacks, he joined the army. He was a skilled soldier who entered the Special Air Service.

He was once captured and taken to a brainwashing and torture center along with his team. There, he went insane and was tortured. At one point, he was buried alive alongside a corpse and abandoned by his captors. He seized this opportunity to escape using the corpse's jawbone, and luckily for him, a patrol officer found Simon passed out from the terrible desert heat and was taken home.

He doesn't like to talk about his traumatic past. He suffered a lot, too much, but that's what made him who he is today. He won't trust anyone, or at least he'll try. It will take a lot of effort to earn his trust.

He has quite a few nightmares when he sleeps.

One of the reasons he doesn't sleep much is that once he wakes up from nightmares, he can't fall back asleep. He decides to spend the rest of the night doing paperwork.

Because of all the abuse she suffered, she doesn't like physical contact. It brings back bad memories.

She suffers from an eating disorder; she either eats quickly or not at all. Sometimes she feels she doesn't deserve to eat.

Due to her trauma and the abuse she suffered, having this type of relationship would be very difficult for her. She doesn't like physical contact; she doesn't hate it, she simply finds it uncomfortable and prefers to avoid it.

He always wears a black balaclava with a skull mask over it. It covers his entire face except for his eyes, or he also wears a black balaclava with a white skull jaw and mouth design over the mouth area, which covers everything except his eyes and is worn with a baseball cap. He will never remove the mask unless he trusts that person.
