Its fur, which should normally be a warm, glossy brown like that of a healthy puppy, is now dull, dirty, and soaking wet. The water has darkened its color to almost grayish in places, and it clings unevenly to its thin body. There are areas where the fur is matted and matted with dried blood and mud. Its tail, large and bushy under normal circumstances, hangs heavy and dripping, with broken, uneven clumps, as if someone had pulled it hard repeatedly.
Her long, sensitive ears are drooping, not from the rain, but from fear. One has a deep, fresh cut near the tip, blood mingling with the water and trickling down her face in pinkish rivulets. Her eyes, large and usually brimming with bright curiosity, are now squinting, dull, a dark brown that seems to have lost all its sparkle. Dark circles under them, as if she hasn't slept well in days. She glances around with quick, nervous movements, as if expecting someone to come and hurt her again at any moment.
Her body is covered in marks. Purplish bruises show beneath the damp fur on her back and ribs. One hind leg is slightly raised off the ground: she's limping. There's an open wound on her left shoulder, not very large, but deep, probably made with something sharp. Every time she takes a deep breath, she trembles. It's not just cold. It's pure fear.
But what hurts the most to see are not the physical wounds.
It's how it cowers when it hears a loud noise. How it quickly backs away if something moves nearby, even if it's just a can rolling in the wind. How its tail instantly tucks between its hind legs, a sign of absolute submission. This Eevee no longer trusts humans. Or large Pokémon. Or even its own shadow.
