But the boy managed to do it himself, driving away several adult men, and Feng Xin appreciated his bravery, noting that he could become a glorious warrior when he grew up. Having had a hard time arguing, the three had barely managed to come to a decision not to cast a curse when the ground beneath them shook. The earthquake drove people out into the streets and although no one was hurt, one of the capital's landmarks, the Pagoda of the Heavenly Deity, began to collapse. Xie Lian summoned his golden statue from the Huangji Monastery and used it to keep the building from falling[26]. However, over the long period of time spent in the mortal world, Xie Lian's magical powers began to run out and were only enough to hold up the pagoda, but not to restore it. The prince was forced to stay near the statue and meditate, accumulating strength, while Feng Xin and Mu Qing guarded the city. But the discontent of the inhabitants grew, and his strength waned, and, in the end, he dropped the pagoda. Having lost his strength and shown weakness, he finally lost the support of his followers. In a matter of days, his temples were destroyed, people died from the curse and on the battlefield, and finally, one day, the gates of the Heavenly Palace finally opened and Xie Lian received a message - to return to Heaven. What awaited him upon his return was clear without words. Finally, they decided to visit the Huangji Monastery, where they met a boy desperately protecting the temple of the crown prince. After so many days, Feng Xin finally managed to see one person who was still protecting Xie Lian, and at that moment, out of excitement, he almost rushed to help him in the fight.

After analyzing the contingent of those infected, Feng Xin noticed that the ones infected were mostly civilians, women, the elderly, children, and young men of weak constitution[24]. Xie Lian soon found out what criteria the curse used to choose its victims, but he could do nothing about it and could not even tell his assistants about the method of getting rid of it. They could only fight and try to cure the disease, but both on the battlefield and with the curse, everything only got worse. In the end, due to the stress, the prince became angry for the first time and fled into the forest, in an attempt to find the demon and deal with it personally. Feng Xin and Mu Qing followed him and encountered Faceless Bai for the first time, noticing an oddity in him that the prince had not noticed until he pulled off the demon's mask - he was a complete copy of Xie Lian[25]. Although it turned out to be just an empty vessel, Xie Lian forced him to tell him the method of removing the curse, but the demon only told him how to cast it. Later, Xie Lian shared this information with his assistants and Mu Qing suggested that the curse could be lifted by a counter curse. After Xie Lian and Mu Qing argued for a long time about the inadmissibility of such a solution, Feng Xin could not stand it and hit Mu Qing and scolded him for his arrogant behavior and constant reproaches and caustic remarks towards the prince.

The attack also had the goal of reporting Qi Rong's abduction. Xie Lian immediately went to rescue him, leaving his comrades to guard the city. Lan Ying set a trap on the mountain by summoning demons, and after rescuing his brother, the prince had to stay behind to clear the mountain.[22] Although the young soldier helped him, they were still trapped in a cave with a demonic shapeshifting flower, Sweet Bonds, until Feng Xin and Mu Qing, summoned by Qi Rong, came to the rescue. After that, while Xie Lian was recuperating for several days, Feng Xin learned about the enemy army - they were indeed supported from abroad, secretly supplying ammunition and provisions. Feng Xin and Mu Qing constantly tried to quietly cut off the enemy army's channels of external support, and they managed to achieve some reduction in the activity of attacks.[23] However, a few months later, a new plague fell upon the capital's residents - an unknown disease, popularly nicknamed "the plague of faces." Xie Lian and his comrades managed to discover its source - the corpse of Lan Ying's son, who had turned into a demonic creature exuding a curse, but destroying it did not help stop the spread of the disease.

Feng Xin once remarked after a battle that even with a trained army they were unable to deal with a crowd of simple, disorganized refugees, and that they were most likely receiving help from outside Xianle[20]. Immediately after this, Xie Lian was attacked, but a young private soldier protected the prince, and Feng Xin tried to attack back, but the attacker was too far away, and Xie Lian recognized the attacker as Lang Ying, the first refugee from Yong'an he had encountered. Feng Xin also noted that the boy who had protected the prince from the surprise attack had also fought in the front lines on the battlefield.

Xie Lian decided to descend to the mortal world and intervene in the conflict. While Mu Qing was indignant at this, due to the fact that the prince's position and treatment affected him, Feng Xin reproached his comrade that they should always and in everything follow their patron. Returning to the capital, the three met a procession of citizens outraged by the behavior of the refugees. Feng Xin noticed a girl walking in the front rows of the column and marveled at her courage to speak out openly, after what had happened to her[19]. After that, they began to fight the rebels, both generals always accompanied Xie Lian on the battlefield, although it was more difficult for them than for the god of war.

While he was busy with this, Feng Xin and Mu Qing were unable to cope with the influx of prayers - they carried out the most urgent ones themselves, but they simply did not have the authority to carry out some of them, and in addition, the situation with the refugees from Yong'an in the capital escalated and a rebellion broke out.

One day, three years after their ascension, Xie Lian and Feng Xin visited the newly opened Eight-Thousand-Temple on Mount Taicang and witnessed a disturbing scene. A beggar pilgrim from Yong'an, Lang Ying, came to the temple to seek aid for the drought-stricken region, but Qi Rong, who had also come to the temple's opening, chased him away and even beat him when Lang Ying tried to collect coins from a pond near the temple.[13] The invisible Feng Xin softened the blows, but was unable to show himself to stop the torture. Xie Lian then shook his own statue in the temple and forced Feng Xin and the summoned Mu Qing to push it to the ground, so that people would try to hold it up for as long as possible and not be distracted while Xie Lian went after the pilgrim to learn more about the drought. Feng Xin and Mu Qing managed to catch up with Xie Lian when he had already finished the conversation and Lang Ying had buried his son, upset that prayers for such an important plight had not reached him, the prince sent assistants to Yun'an to find out the details on the spot

After Xie Lian's ascension, Feng Xin became the first divine general in his palace.[1] Together with Mu Qing, he assisted His Highness with the prayers of the faithful, separating those prayers that were within the prince's sphere of influence from those that could be ignored, and then passing on to him those requests that needed special attention. Feng Xin constantly complained about the endless stream of prayers for some nonsense. The first general was also responsible for eliminating the consequences of Qi Rong's tyranny - although he made great efforts to zealously fulfill the prince's orders to treat people with kindness and moderate his temper, he still caused trouble from time to time.

After picking up the boy, the trio headed back to the monastery. Since the boy did not want to be carried by anyone other than the prince, Feng Xin offered to take him on a cart and, having found a suitable "transport", despite his broken arm, he pulled the cart up the mountain. [10] At the monastery, Feng Xin and Mu Qing stayed to look after the boy and found themselves trapped when the spirits that had broken free reached out specifically to him. Forced to protect the boy, they protected themselves with a magical field and were unable to leave the palace, which had started a fire. Fortunately, Xie Lian managed to get there in time and neutralized the spirits, but after what happened, Feng Xin asked him to get rid of the boy, who was attracting so much misfortune. [11] After so many events and Xie Lian's conversations with the adviser about "fate", the prince was sent to wander the world to gain experience and soon after completing his wanderings, not even reaching the age of eighteen, Xie Lian ascended

It was soon discovered that Xie Lian had lost one of his precious coral earrings. While the boys were looking for it, Feng Xin unwittingly touched a sore spot with Mu Qing by suggesting that someone might have stolen them. Although Feng Xin did not mean Mu Qing, Mu Qing had in fact already been involved in an unintentional theft and was aware of his comrade's negative attitude towards him, which made him angry and run away. Xie Lian and Feng Xin followed him and witnessed the young man being bullied by other fellow disciples of the monastery. They defended the young man and Feng Xin apologized to him for the unintentional offense.

During the Lantern Festival parade, Feng Xin accompanied the procession, although he did not participate in the performance itself. When Xie Lian interrupted the procession to save a boy who had fallen from the wall, Feng Xin picked up the prince's fallen mask and urged the procession to continue moving. After the procession ended, Xie Lian instructed Feng Xin to take the boy out of the Forbidden City, where the procession ended, and see if he was injured, but the boy kicked him in the leg and ran away as soon as he left the gate. Returning to the monastery, the three were forced to answer to the adviser and the abbots of the monastery about the reasons why Xie Lian changed the beginning of the performance. Feng Xin testified that Mu Qing was given specific instructions to convey a message about the changes to the teachers, and he reported on the completion of the order, and Feng Xin was extremely indignant that the teachers did not actually receive it. In Feng Xin's opinion, Mu Qing's answers before the march were vague, which led to misunderstandings, and this was done intentionally by Mu Qing. But since there was no evidence of malicious intent, Feng Xin had to restrain his anger and not make a fuss.

When Xie Lian went to Huangji Monastery, he found and brought close to one of the servants, Mu Qing. Due to Mu Qing's secretive nature, Feng Xin did not trust him very much and did not understand why the prince valued him so highly. Being a simple and straightforward person, Feng Xin could not understand Mu Qing's behavior. But Xie Lian treated them equally

Feng Xin was personally chosen by the fourteen-year-old Xie Lian, the crown prince of the Xianle Kingdom, to be his bodyguard. He followed Xie Lian everywhere and they became very close. Xie Lian relied on him so much that the thought of the prince sending him away made Feng Xin laugh.
