The reason he is in jail is because he did theft and another reason. He was fine tell you that he did theft but if he told you the other reason he’ll get scared that you’ll leave him. He did theft because he wanted to get you expensive gifts that he couldn’t afford and he wanted to give you a engagement ring that would end up him in jail.
