Jin-woo Sung

Jin-woo is a tall, attractive, and muscular young man with blue-grey eyes, defined facial features, and black hair with bangs that reaches over his eyes. When using his powers or experiencing intense emotions, his eyes glow purple and his facial features become accentuated. He prefers dark clothing and often sports elegant and stylish outfits, from tailored suits to long hooded coats. After defeating the Monarchs in the revised timeline created by the Reincarnation Cup, he also begins wearing a black glove on his left hand to cover the burn scars he received there during his rematch with Antares.

Before being chosen as a System Player, Jinwoo had a very different appearance. He was shorter and noticeably slimmer, with long, thick hair that covered his ears. His face was very youthful, making him look even younger than his sister Jinah (who was in her teens at the time), and he often dressed casually, wearing a simple blue hoodie and jeans. He was also commonly seen wearing bandages on his arms and legs due to the frequent injuries he received during raids.

Jinwoo is a humble and benevolent person who cares deeply for his family and yearns to become stronger. As such, he maintains a close relationship with his sister and mother, and rarely wastes an opportunity to hone his skills and gain more power. His deep bond with his family also makes him absolutely ruthless to anyone who dares to harm them, as shown when he massacred Groctar and his henchmen for trying to kill Jinah, and murdered Hwang Dongsoo for torturing Jinho.

It should be noted that, despite being the strongest Hunter in the world, Jinwoo is not particularly arrogant and, in person, is polite and calm. He is also generally indifferent to materialistic desires and can be very selfless, as shown when he teleported to Jeju Island without a second thought to save the other S-Rank Korean Hunters from certain death. In combat, however, he is ruthless, as he tends to slaughter his enemies indiscriminately, and is even somewhat disdainful, as shown when he mocked the Ant King by calling him a "mere insect" and taunted Kandiaru for the flaws he made in the System's design.

In contrast, when he was weak, Jinwoo was very shy and insecure due to his incompetence as a Hunter and his precarious financial situation. Although he cared deeply for his family and spent years risking his life on raids for their sake, he was secretly ashamed of his circumstances, as shown when he lied to Joohee about why he chose hunting as a profession. However, his traumatic experience in the Double Dungeon would give him everything he needed to grow stronger, and being betrayed and abandoned to his fate by his fellow Hunters while trapped in the dungeon would teach him the harsh lesson that his kindness could be exploited by others for their own gain. As a result, from that moment on, Jinwoo vowed to never risk his life again.

Passive skills

Willpower: Jinwoo can regenerate from any bodily damage, except mortal wounds such as a stab wound to the heart. This also includes the loss of limbs, as evidenced by the complete regeneration of his right leg after losing it during the first Double Dungeon Incident.

Longevity: Jinwoo is immune to all diseases, poisons, and any abilities that could harm his status. His regeneration rate is much faster than that of a normal human and increases exponentially when he sleeps.

Detoxification: Jinwoo's body is capable of automatically purifying itself of any poison upon detecting it in his bloodstream. Unfortunately, alcohol is considered a poison, and thus, Jinwoo cannot get drunk.

Tenacity: If Jinwoo's health drops below 30% in battle, any additional damage he takes will be reduced by 50% to keep him alive.

Advanced Dagger Techniques: If Jinwoo uses his daggers in battle, any damage he deals to his opponent will be increased by 33%.
Active skills

Stealth: Jinwoo can camouflage himself with his surroundings and hide all traces of his presence, essentially becoming invisible both physically and magically.

Bloodlust: Jinwoo can magically intimidate an enemy combatant into submission, instilling intense fear in those targeted and reducing their stats by 50%. It can also be used against multiple opponents at once.

Quicksilver: Jinwoo can increase his speed by 30% for a short period of time.

Mutilation: Jinwoo targets a target's vital points before slashing them with his daggers, dealing critical damage.

As the second Shadow Monarch, Jinwoo is the strongest hunter in the world and one of the strongest beings in existence.

Immeasurable Strength: Jin-woo possesses tremendous physical strength. Even before gaining his true power, he was strong enough to severely damage the Statue of God with just a few blows to the face and leave Thomas Andre, one of the five National-Level Hunters, on the brink of death with just his hands. After being revived by Ashborn and receiving the full power of the Shadow Monarch, Jin-woo's strength increased to the point where he could effortlessly repel Sillad's attacks single-handedly, kill Rakan in just four hits, and hold his own against Antares, the strongest and oldest of the nine Monarchs, in battle. Having spent 27 years waging war against the Monarchs in the revised timeline, Jin-woo appears to have grown even more powerful, as evidenced by his ability to kill Antares completely single-handedly instead of relying on the Rulers for support.

Immeasurable Speed: Jinwoo is incredibly fast and can move at such high speeds that most opponents are unable to keep up with his movements. As proof of this, he was agile enough to keep up with Sillad's attacks during their second confrontation, and upon gaining his true power, he was able to attack Rakan with such speed that Rakan didn't even realize he had attacked him until Jinwoo severed his leg.

Immense Resilience: Jinwoo is incredibly resistant to physical damage. He was virtually unharmed when the Ant King punched him in the face, only suffering a small cut on his lip, and was unharmed after Baran slammed him into the ground with great force.

Fluency in Monster Language: Jinwoo can speak and understand monster language, which he uses to communicate with his Shadow Soldiers and the enemy monsters he encounters in battle.

Combat Mastery: Jinwoo is a master of hand-to-hand combat, and his fighting skills are so refined that he can easily hold his own against far more experienced foes. This was first demonstrated during his battle with Kandiaru in the Double Dungeon; despite his opponent having been alive for centuries and having fought numerous opponents, Jinwoo was still able to match him in battle and eventually completely overpower him. Later, Jinwoo was also able to keep pace with and defend against Sillad's attacks, despite the latter having his Spirit Body Manifestation activated and vast combat experience, and likely would have been able to land a killing blow if Rakan hadn't ambushed him from behind.
Accelerated Development: Jinwoo's most astonishing ability is his explosive growth, a power unmatched in the world. Not only does he grow stronger with each battle, but he also receives a massive boost in strength with each victory. Thanks to this, it only took him a few months of intensive training with the System to become one of the strongest Hunters in Asia.
Umbrakinesis: Jinwoo possesses absolute control over shadows and darkness, and can reshape them into any shape he desires, as shown when he created a layer of black armor made of shadows over his body.
Memory Manipulation: Jinwoo can manipulate the memories of other humans to a certain extent by making physical contact with them. So far, he has shown to be able to erase certain memories from their minds, grant them their memories from the original timeline, and allow them to see their own memories.
Unlimited Inventory: Jinwoo can store an unlimited amount of items in his shadow and draw any amount of those items for his own use at any time.

Dragon's Fear: Jinwoo unleashes a mana-infused scream from his soul, driving anyone weaker than him into a state of intense despair and panic.
