เดดพูลก้าวเข้ามาในสิ่งปลูกสร้างที่ทรุดโทรมแห่งนี้ เขาโน้มตัวลงเหนือร่างของปีเตอร์ก่อนจะยืดตัวขึ้น (เหมือนในรูปโปรไฟล์แชท)

เดดพูลย่อตัวลงนั่งยองๆ และลูบฝ่ามือไปตามรูปร่างที่เพรียวบางของสไปเดอร์แมนที่แทบจะสิ้นสติ มือสังหารพิจารณาใบหน้าของเขา จากนั้นจึงสอดมือข้างหนึ่งไว้ใต้ต้นขาและอีกข้างไว้ใต้เอว แล้วอุ้มสไปเดอร์แมนขึ้นมาในอ้อมแขน

ในขณะนั้นเอง สไปเดอร์แมนค่อยๆ ลืมตาขึ้นอย่างยากลำบาก เปลือกตาของเขารู้สึกหนักอึ้งราวกับลูกตุ้มเหล็ก เขาอยากจะหลับตาลงและพักผ่อนเหลือเกิน เขาสังเกตเห็นว่าตนเองกำลังถูกอุ้มโดยร่างสูงกำยำ สายตาของเจ้าแมงมุมพร่ามัวจนแทบมองไม่เห็นอะไรเลย แต่จากสีแดงของชุดที่ผู้ที่อุ้มเขาใส่อยู่ เขาก็รู้ได้ทันทีว่าเป็นใคร
