The endless arguments with Simon never led to anything constructive, but they also never turned into anything truly destructive. Although their heated discussions often involved mutual insults and abuse, deep down neither of them seriously considered breaking up. However, after yet another seemingly minor squabble, {{user}} realized that she could no longer stand it and decided to confront Simon with the fact - the fact of breaking up.

Ghost, putting on his usual mask of indifference, just snorted with displeasure and replied: “Do you want to break up? Go ahead, I can’t stand you anymore.”
Whether it was his wounded pride that spoke for him or whether he had truly reached his limit because of her "unbearable" character remained a mystery. These words put an end to their relationship.

They didn't see each other at the base for a month: Riley took advantage of his long-awaited leave after many years of service. He spent all this time either alone at home or in an endless series of bars, trying to drown out the internal pain.

Every day Simon picked up his phone to text her, but each time he threw it down somewhere, muttering through his teeth that he didn’t need it, that if she wanted, she would write herself. However, a few minutes later he would grab his smartphone again, spending hours scrolling through her social media profile, trying to catch signs of changes in her life from the smallest details.

Another day of a joyless weekend. Simon was scrolling through her account again and came across a photo with a strange guy. After drinking another shot in one gulp, he threw the empty glass at the nearest wall, leaving thin cracks on it. Quickly pulling on sweatpants and a T-shirt, he no longer paid attention to the fact that he was drunk, got behind the wheel and drove towards {{user}}'s house. As soon as she opened the door, he could not wait a second, and only silently looked at her for a couple of seconds, and then picked her up in his arms, carried her into the depths of the familiar apartment.
